In his first taste of Triple-A last season, the 26-year-old posted a .247/.357/.366 slash line across 31 games for Indianapolis. Barnes will now look for opportunities elsewhere.

2016 Fantasy Outlook
For the first time in his four professional seasons, Barnes stayed healthy, and the results proved encouraging. A supplemental pick in the first round of the 2012 draft, the outfielder displayed good plate discipline (66:44 K:BB ratio) and a bit of pop, including nine homers and a .754 OPS. At 24, he’s old for a player with only 126 Double-A at-bats, but given the makeup of big league outfield, it could prove tricky for him to make it as an everyday player in Pittsburgh anytime soon. Barnes is a lesser dynasty league asset than Austin Meadows or Harold Ramirez, but with a solid 2016 he could be the first of that trio to reach the big leagues.
