Drafted by D-backs in fifth round

The Diamondbacks have selected Kennedy with the 142nd overall pick in the 2017 first-year player draft.
ANALYSIS
Known primarily for working out with Mike Trout in the offseason, Kennedy's top tool is his ability to hit, which makes him intriguing in dynasty leagues. At 5-foot-11, 215 pounds, it seems unlikely that he can stick at third base, but if he keeps hitting once he gets into pro ball, he should be able to profile at most positions. He was committed to North Carolina, but will likely be signed after coming off the board in the fifth round. Kennedy is an above-average runner, but that probably won't be a big part of his game by the time he reaches the majors.
