Closer Watch

Mets - Frank Francisco gave up a run, two hits and a walk, but managed to hold on for the save against the Brewers on Monday night. Jon Rauch was warming in the bullpen when George Kottaras flew out to the end the game. For now, Francisco remains the Mets' closer, but his hold on the job continues to slip.

Nats - Rodriguez walked three of the four batters he faced and loaded the bases before giving way to Sean Burnett with one out in the top of the ninth against the Padres on Monday night. He departed with a three-run lead, but his shaky performances of late will potentially open the door for Burnett or Tyler Clippard while Drew Storen and Brad Lidge continue their respective rehab efforts with an eye toward returning in June. Burnett induced a 2-3 double play to end the game by facing one batter.

Recommended Pickup

Jordan Lyles, SP, HOU -- Standing by the recommendation from late April when Lyles made his first start of the season for the Astros, he remains an intriguing pickup with all signs pointing to an opportunity to join the rotation Tuesday against the Phillies. For those in deeper leagues where useful arms are more difficult to come by, Lyles' fast start at Triple-A Oklahoma City should open some eyes. Through his first four starts, Lyles has a 32:8 K:BB in 38.2 innings, and the 7.5 K/9IP is his highest mark since 2009 when he was an 18-year-old at Low-A Lexington. Further, he's managed to keep the ball in the park (just one homer allowed) after carrying a 1.34 HR/9IP over 94 innings with the Astros during his rookie season.

Other Recent Recommendations: Kyle Seager, Josh Reddick, Addison Reed and Tim Stauffer.
