PITCHER
Corey Kluber, CLE at CWS ($14,000): It's boom or bust for pitchers Saturday and I'm going with the biggest boom in Kluber, who has continued his lights-out pitching with 26 strikeouts in his last two starts. The White Sox have improved against righties, but still have a below average .314 wOBA and mediocre 20.7 percent K rate in July.
Jerad Eickhoff, PHI vs. ATL ($8,100): Eickhoff doesn't have the upside of some of the bigger names, but he provides plenty of consistency with at least 10 fantasy points in his last six outings. He's also reached at least six strikeouts in his last three and Atlanta's 21.0 percent K rate matches well with that. This could be another one of those times as the Braves are also struggling with a .295 wOBA in July.
CATCHER
Caleb Joseph, BAL at TEX ($3,300): Welington Castillo ($3,500) started yesterday, so I'm betting that Joseph gets the call Saturday. If not, then Castillo isn't a terrible play, either. I'm rolling with Joseph because his numbers have improved against righties with a .414 wOBA in his last 63 at-bats. Austin Bibens-Dirkx is slated to start after giving up a couple runs in one inning of relief Wednesday. His last start came on June 30 and he has just 14 strikeouts in five starts this season to go with a 4.58 xFIP against righties.
FIRST BASE
Joey Gallo, TEX vs. BAL ($3,700): Kevin Gausman has been dealing in his last two starts, but the run he gave up to the Rangers 10 days ago came off a Gallo homer. Gallo is roping righties with a .417 wOBA and .433 ISO in July (39 at-bats) and Gausman's lesser K rate (17.2 percent) against lefties should help.
SECOND BASE
Logan Forsythe, LAD vs. SF ($3,200): Forsythe thrives against lefties and should do so against Ty Blach, who's been somewhat all over the place. While the southpaw has gone six innings in his last four starts, he allowed five runs last game and at least six hits in all of them with just 18 strikeouts. Forsythe has a .426 wOBA and much better .197 ISO against lefties.
THIRD BASE
Derek Dietrich, MIA vs. CIN ($3,500): I always try and get at least one play in against Tim Adleman, and Dietrich gets the call after a midweek breakout with eight RBIs combined on Wednesday and Thursday. Dietrich's overall numbers have improved against righties with a wOBA at .346 and ISO at .227 in July (50 at-bats). Adleman struggles mightily against lefties with a .365 wOBA allowed and 6.07 xFIP. Along with that, Adleman has given up at least three runs in his last seven starts.
SHORTSTOP
Tim Beckham, TB at NYY ($3,500): Beckham has found his early-season form again and sports a nice .374 wOBA and .276 ISO in his last 32 at-bats against lefties. On the mound, Caleb Smith makes his debut at Yankee Stadium and nerves could be an issue, as the lefty has given up six runs in 6.2 innings pitched through two appearances.
OUTFIELD
Odubel Herrera, PHI vs. ATL ($3,400): It's not often I'll suggest a lefty-lefty matchup, but this one can produce. Herrera has been better against lefties all season and has a .363 wOBA and smaller 19.4 percent K rate in his last 62 at-bats (since June 1). Sean Newcomb is striking out batters, but that may be his only positive. In his last four starts, he has given up 19 runs to go with 14 walks and 23 strikeouts. Even worse, his .338 wOBA allowed against lefties is higher than his mark against righties (.329).
Clint Frazier, NYY vs. TB ($4,100): Frazier has given the Yankees offense a bit of a boost since getting called up and that's seen in his .410 wOBA and .333 ISO against lefties. While it's only 21 at-bats, that's still a good rate for a cheap outfielder. Blake Snell could be in trouble at Yankee Stadium due to a .345 wOBA allowed and 5.59 xFIP against righties.
Seth Smith, BAL at TEX ($3,900): I could go a few different ways, but Smith is my choice because of his .420 wOBA and .302 ISO in July (50 at-bats) against righties. This is my second pick against Bibens-Dirkx, who has a miserable 6.49 xFIP and 6.3 percent K rate against lefties.
