FanDuel NBA: Monday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Monday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

There are 11 games being played throughout Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, but only four of them will make up the main slate at night on FanDuel. There are still several elite players to choose from as the Warriors, Rockets, Cavaliers and Thunder will all be in action. Here are some options to consider across the price scale to hopefully help end your night with a winning entry.

Guards

Stephen Curry, GS at CLE ($10,200): Curry showed no signs of rust after missing two games with an ankle injury, scoring 46.7 FanDuel points Saturday against the Raptors. Curry has missed 13 of the Warriors last 19 games, but scored at least 46.7 FanDuel points in all six of the games that he played. The Warriors play at the fourth-fastest pace (102.4 possessions per game) in the league and Curry's 30.9% usage rate ranks inside the top-10 in the league, so look for him to have plenty of opportunities to be productive in this game.

Eric Gordon, HOU at LAC ($7,600): Gordon continues to start with James Harden (hamstring) out and has scored at least 42.5 FanDuel points in three of his last five games. Gordon has been far more productive as a starter this season, averaging 22.2 points, 2.9 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 3.8 three-pointers per game in that role. He scored 33.8 FanDuel points in his last game against the Clippers, making him a viable option at a reasonable price again Monday.

Milos Teodosic, LAC vs. HOU ($4,800): Teodosic's first season in the NBA hasn't gone as planned with foot injuries limiting him to just 15 games so far. He's healthy right now, averaging 10.5 points and 7.0 assists in two games since returning from his most recent absence. The Rockets play at the eighth-fastest pace (101.5) in the league and the Clippers continue to deal with depth issues at guard, so Teodosic does have some upside in tournament play based on his cheap price.

Forwards

Kevin Durant, GS at CLE ($10,700): Durant recently missed three games with a calf injury, but looks to be fine moving forward, logging at least 31 minutes in all three games since he returned. He has now scored at least 41.2 FanDuel points in seven of his last eight games, which shouldn't be surprising based on his 30.5% usage rate that ranks inside the top-10 in the league. He dominated the Cavaliers in their first meeting this season, finishing with 54.9 FanDuel points. He won't come cheap, but he can still provide value for your entry.

Derrick Favors, UTA vs. IND ($6,300): While listed at power forward on FanDuel, Favors continues to fill in at center for Rudy Gobert (knee). He's been productive in that role, scoring at least 28 FanDuel points in six of his last seven games. Not only does Favors have a double-double in three of his last six games, but he has also blocked at least one shot in five straight games. The Pacers allow the most FanDuel points per game (58.2) to opposing centers, making Favors an excellent option Monday.

Gerald Green, HOU at LAC ($4,600): Green continues to play a lot with Harden out, logging at least 29 minutes in four of his last five games. He scored just 15.1 FanDuel points in his last game Friday against the Suns, but he shot only 3-for-14 from the field. He won't be that cold too often and had scored at least 24.6 FanDuel points in four of five games entering Friday. He won't cost you much, leaving him with upside based on the volume of shots he is seeing right now.

Centers

Clint Capela, HOU at LAC ($7,800): Capela has played well lately, averaging 15.8 points, 11.7 rebounds and 1.7 blocks over his last six games. The Rockets like to stretch the floor and use a lot of small lineups, which leaves Capela with plenty of opportunities to grab rebounds. The Clippers could be without DeAndre Jordan (ankle), which would be a boost for Capela as he is one of the best rebounders in the league. Even if Jordan does play, Capela's ability to provide a double-double in a nightly basis still makes him someone to consider again Monday.

Kevin Love, CLE vs. GS ($7,000): The Cavaliers have been blown out a couple of times lately, which resulted in horrid performances from Love. The low point came in a game last Monday against the Timberwolves when Love scored just 5.4 FanDuel Points. He's not going to play that poorly often and has rebounded nicely, scoring 43 FanDuel points in his last game Friday against the Pacers. Love scored 54.6 FanDuel points in his first meeting with the Warriors and could provide excellent value at this price.

Willie Reed, LAC vs. HOU ($4,300): To be clear, Monday might be the day to pay up at center. Both Capela and Love are very reasonably priced and have high upside. However, if you want to take a chance on a really cheap center in tournament play, Reed is an option if Jordan doesn't play. He scored 44.5 FanDuel points with Jordan out Saturday against the Kings, but that will be hard for him to approach again even if Jordan sits out Monday. The added minutes alone get him into the conversation though, especially if the game gets out of hand and he gets some extra garbage time.
