DraftKings NBA: Monday Cheat Sheet

DraftKings NBA: Monday Cheat Sheet

This article is part of our DraftKings NBA series.

The NBA starts off the week in style Monday with 11 games on the schedule. Games start as early as 12:30 PM EST on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, which leaves four games to choose from for the evening slate on DraftKings. Consider adding the players below who have favorable matchups to your entry.

Guards

Russell Westbrook, OKC vs. SAC ($11,500): Westbrook hasn't let the additions of Paul George and Carmelo Anthony deter him from being an elite option in DFS, posting the second-highest usage rate (35%) in the league. He has three triple-doubles in his last seven games and has scored at least 60 DraftKings points in 11 of his last 14 games. Both his ceiling and his floor are among the highest of any player in the league, so don't be afraid to pay up for him again Monday.

Lou Williams, LAC vs. HOU ($8,900): The Clippers welcomed the return of Milos Teodosic and Blake Griffin from injury only to lose DeAndre Jordan (ankle) last Thursday. It's been that kind of season for the Clippers. Williams has been their rock, resulting in a 30.1% usage rate that ranks inside the top-15 in the league. He scored 54 DraftKings points in his first meeting with the Rockets this year and his volume of scoring opportunities alone make him worth consideration in their second matchup.

Gerald Green, HOU at LAC ($5,300): Green continues to play a lot with James Harden (hamstring) out, logging at least 29 minutes in four of his last five games. He scored only 16.8 DraftKings points in his last game Friday against the Suns, but he shot only 3-for-14 from the field in that game. He won't be that cold too often and had scored at least 27.4 DraftKings points in four of five games entering Friday. Expect him to return to his productive ways Monday.

Forwards

Kevin Durant, GS at CLE ($9,800): Durant recently missed three games with a calf injury, but appears to be healthy right now, logging at least 31 minutes in all three games since he returned. He has now scored at least 40.5 DraftKings points in eight straight games, which shouldn't be surprising based on his 30.5% usage rate that ranks inside the top-10 in the league. He excelled in his first meeting with Cleveland this season, finishing with 51.8 DraftKings points. He's not priced under $10,000 often, so it might be the time to take advantage of his discounted price.

Domantas Sabonis, IND at UTA ($6,400): Myles Turner (elbow) has been ruled out again for Monday, which will mark the fourth consecutive game he has missed. Sabonis has taken his place in the starting lineup, which is a role that he has performed well in this season. In 11 starts, he is averaging 12.5 points, 11.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game. At this reasonable price, Sabonis is a viable option with upside for your entry.

Joe Johnson, UTA vs. IND ($3,700): The Jazz received some tough news over the weekend that Thabo Sefolosha (knee) will be out for the season. Sefolosha has been a key member of their rotation, often starting when the team faces a smaller opponent. This should open up more playing time for Johnson, who is averaging just 22 minutes per game so far. The Pacers will be thin up front with Turner out, leaving Johnson as an intriguing cheap tournament play to consider.

Centers

Blake Griffin, LAC vs. HOU ($9,100): Griffin scored just 27.5 DraftKings points Saturday against the Kings, but he only played 29 minutes in a lopsided victory. With the Clippers lack of depth, they have also leaned heavily on Griffin when he is healthy, resulting in Griffin's 29.4% usage rate that ranks inside the top-20 in the league. If Jordan is out, Griffin could also play some center Monday in a game that should be full of small lineups for the Rockets. Even if Jordan does return, Griffin should have plenty of opportunities to provide value based on the Rockets playing at the eighth-fastest pace (101.5 possessions per game) in the league.

Steven Adams, OKC vs. SAC ($6,200): Adams is coming off one of his best games of the season Saturday against the Hornets, finishing with 43.3 DraftKings points. He's the lone viable big man the Thunder have, which has resulted in him logging at least 31 minutes in seven of his last eight games. The Kings have plenty of size up front, which could lead to even more playing time for Adams. The Kings allow the fourth-most DraftKings points per game (55) to opposing centers, making Adams a viable option at his reasonable price Monday.

Derrick Favors, UTA vs. IND ($6,000): Favors continues to man the middle with Rudy Gobert (knee) out, scoring at least 28.3 DraftKings points in seven of his last nine games. Not only does Favors have a double-double in three of his last six games, but he has also blocked at least one shot in five straight games. The Pacers allow the most DraftKings points per game (57.6) to opposing centers, so Favors could be in line for a big performance based on his role with the Jazz.
