Yahoo DFS Basketball: Wednesday Picks

Yahoo DFS Basketball: Wednesday Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Basketball series.

Buckle in for a busy night in the NBA with 11 games on the schedule Wednesday. Let's get right down to business and highlight some players to consider adding to your entries, as well as a few to possibly avoid.

GUARDS

John Wall, HOU vs. CHA ($29): The Rockets finally broke their long losing streak with a win over the Raptors on Monday. Wall played a key role in the win, posting a triple-double on his way to 53.2 Yahoo points. He's scored at least 42.9 Yahoo points in four of his last five games and should continue to jack up shots at will, as long as he's on the floor. The Rockets have been rumored to be active on the trade market, but with Wall likely staying put, expect him to continue his hefty workload.

Terry Rozier, CHA at HOU ($25): It's going to be an uphill battle for the Hornets to stay in the playoff hunt with LaMelo Ball (wrist) out for at least the next four weeks, if not the rest of the season. In their first game since Ball went down, Rozier exploded for 45.6 Yahoo points. Add Rozier's expanded role to the Rockets fading defensive metrics and he could be in line for another juicy stat line.

Guard to Avoid

Coby White, CHI vs. CLE ($17): It will be interesting to see what the Bulls do at the deadline. Mainly, do they trade Lauri Markkanen and/or Wendell Carter Jr.? White likely isn't going anywhere, but he's already seen his role reduced after being moved to the bench. He hasn't scored more than 25.4 Yahoo points across six games since joining the second unit and he scored under 20 Yahoo points four times. Nothing to see here.

FORWARDS

Domantas Sabonis, IND vs. DET ($45): It's not difficult to make a case for deploying Sabonis in DFS any given night. He's been one of the most consistent big men in the league, averaging 20.2 points, 11.2 rebounds, 6.2 assists and 1.2 steals. He's shot at least 51.4 percent from the field in every season since joining the Pacers and he's averaging a career-high 36 minutes per game this season. Really the only worry about adding Sabonis to your lineup is if the Pacers blow out the struggling Pistons, he could spend added time on the bench in the fourth quarter. Still, if that happens, Sabonis likely will have played a big hand in building that lopsided score.

Marcus Morris Sr., LAC at SA ($11): A recent move to the starting five has provided a boost for Morris' production. He's scored at least 25.9 Yahoo points in three of four games in that role, thanks in large part to him averaging 29 minutes per game. For the season, he's only averaging 25 minutes. As long as he continues to play more, he could provide value a near the minimum salary.

Forward to Avoid

De'Andre Hunter, ATL at SAC ($21): After missing nearly two months with a knee injury, Hunter made his return to the floor Monday against the Clippers. He played 20 minutes off the bench, scoring just 13.7 Yahoo points. Given how long he was out, expect him to play limited minutes in this contest, as well.

CENTERS

Christian Wood, HOU vs. CHA ($34): Wood had an uncharacteristically quiet night on the boards Monday, hauling in just four rebounds across 28 minutes. Still, he scored 19 points and has impressive averages of 21.9 points and 9.8 rebounds for the season. The Hornets could be forced to play small if Cody Zeller (shoulder) misses his third straight game, so look for Wood to have a bounce back performance in the rebounding department, while continuing to provide plenty of scoring.

Ivica Zubac, LAC at SA ($15): The Clippers will have to play their fifth-straight game without Serge Ibaka (back), who isn't even traveling with the team right now. Zubac has started in his absence, scoring at least 30.7 Yahoo points three times. The Spurs have allowed the fifth-most rebounds per game in the league, which could set up Zubac to provide value.

Center to Avoid

Al Horford, OKC vs. MEM ($23): We haven't seen much of Horford lately, who has sat out four of the Thunder's last five games for rest. The one game that he did play, he only logged 25 minutes. The Thunder are playing for nothing but a high draft pick at this point, so don't be surprised if Horford plays limited minutes in this game, as well.
