Abdel Nader

Nader was traded to the Thunder last offseason and ended up occasionally playing a key role in the team's rotation. In the end, he averaged just 4.0 points and 1.9 rebounds across 11.4 points per game, but when the swingman saw extended minutes with Oklahoma City, he was productive. In the one outing he saw over 30 minutes, Nader scored a career-high 18 points and grabbed five rebounds, while he averaged 11.1 points and 4.1 rebounds per game when playing at least 20 minutes. Those moments, however, came few and far between for the 25-year-old, and more of the same is expected for Nader in his third NBA season. With the emergence of Terrance Ferguson last season and the expected return of Andre Roberson (kneecap) this year, Nader may struggle to earn significant minutes in the team's rotation, even with the departure of Paul George. Even if Nader does end up seeing minutes off the bench in Oklahoma City this year, they likely will be limited and inconsistent barring injuries to those playing ahead of him.

Nader was the 56th overall pick in the 2016 draft who then starred in the D-League, averaging 22.0 points, six boards, four assists and 2.5 made threes per game for the Maine Red Claws. Nader parlayed that performance into a four-year deal with the Celtics, though the fourth year is a club option. Expect Nader to beat out rookie Jabari Bird for the last roster spot, but see minimal playing time. The Celtics depth chart is crowded at small forward, with Gordon Hayward, Jaylen Brown, Jason Tatum, Marcus Smart and probably Semi Ojeleye ahead of Nader. As Boston strives to make the Finals, only a string of injuries would allow for Nader to see meaningful floor time.
