FanDuel NBA: Tuesday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Tuesday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

The NBA returns from a day off Monday with 13 games on the schedule Tuesday. Several teams are dealing with significant injuries while others are limiting playing time for their veterans due to already clinching a playoff spot or for tanking purposes. There are still a lot of great options for your FanDuel entry though on such a busy slate, so here are some players with favorable matchups who can hopefully help you win some money.

Guards

Donovan Mitchell, UTA vs. LAL ($8,100): Mitchell has been a reliable source for production for the Jazz, scoring at least 30 FanDuel points in 12 straight games. His 29% usage rate ranks inside the top 20 in the league, leaving him with a high floor most nights. The Lakers play at the fastest pace (102.8 possessions per game) in the league, so expect Mitchell to receive plenty of opportunities to provide value again Tuesday.

Trey Burke, NY vs. ORL ($6,900): Burke has started four straight games for the Knicks, scoring at least 29.4 FanDuel points in each contest. He's now played at least 27 minutes in five straight games and should continue to see plenty of minutes as the season comes to a close. The Magic allow the most FanDuel points per game (48.5) to opposing point guards, making Burke someone worth considering for your entry.

Malik Monk, CHA at CHI ($3,600): The Hornets tried to make a late run, but finally saw their faint hopes dashed as they are now officially eliminated from playoff contention. With nothing left to play for, Monk could see extended playing time down the stretch. He logged at least 24 minutes in both of his last two games, scoring at least 18.7 FanDuel points in both contests. The Bulls backcourt doesn't have much depth and they have struggled defensively, so it might be worth taking a chance on Monk in tournament play.

Forwards

Ben Simmons, PHI vs. BKN ($9,900): The Sixers will be shorthanded again Tuesday with Joel Embiid (eye) and Dario Saric (elbow) both already ruled out. Simmons excelled with them sidelined Sunday against the Hornets, scoring 66.1 FanDuel points. The Nets allow the third-most points per game (110.5) in the league, leaving Simmons with tremendous upside again Tuesday.

Robert Covington, PHI vs. BKN ($6,100): Covington is another player who stepped up with Embiid and Saric out Sunday, scoring 54.7 FanDuel points. Not only did he finish with a double-double, but he also recorded seven steals in that game. Covington has at least three steals in three of his last five games and when you factor in the extra offensive opportunities he could see Tuesday, he becomes someone to consider at this reasonable price.

Marquese Chriss, PHO vs. SAC ($5,200): The Suns are dealing with several injuries to key players, including T.J. Warren (knee) being listed as doubtful and Alex Len (ankle) being listed as questionable Tuesday. Both players have missed the Suns last three games, resulting in Chriss playing at least 30 minutes and scoring at least 36.3 FanDuel points in each contest. If Warren and Len are still sidelined Tuesday, Chriss could provide value once again.

Centers

Nikola Jokic, DEN vs. IND ($10,700): The Nuggets are only one game out the final playoff spot in the West and they've been riding Jokic, playing him at least 40 minutes in three straight games. He's come through with monster performances, scoring at least 56.2 FanDuel points in each contest. The Nuggets will look for Jokic to have an expanded role in the offense again Tuesday with Gary Harris (knee) still sidelined, giving him significant upside based on his ability to contribute with rebounds and assists as well.

Kyle O'Quinn, NY vs. ORL ($5,500): Enes Kanter (back) was unable to play Saturday against the Pistons and is listed as doubtful for Tuesday. O'Quinn played 32 minutes with Kanter out Saturday, scoring 31.5 FanDuel points. He's not going to provide much offense, but he showed he doesn't have to in order to be valuable, grabbing 15 rebounds and dishing out three assists in that game. With another start likely in the cards Tuesday, O'Quinn is a viable option to consider.

Willy Hernangomez, CHA at CHI ($4,600): Hernangomez is getting a chance to play more to close out the season, logging at least 17 minutes in three of the last four games. He's largely produced when given added playing time, scoring at least 24.8 FanDuel points in each of the last five games that he has played at least 17 minutes. The Bulls allow the sixth-most FanDuel points per game (54.2) to opposing centers, leaving Hernangomez as someone to consider in tournament play.
