DraftKings NBA: Monday Cheat Sheet

DraftKings NBA: Monday Cheat Sheet

This article is part of our DraftKings NBA series.

The NBA playoffs slow down Monday with only two games on the schedule. As a result, you'll be left with limited options for your DraftKings entry. Let's take a look at some players in action who could help you win some money.

Guards

Ben Simmons, PHI vs. MIA ($9,700): Simmons shot just 5-for-13 from the field in his first career playoff appearance in Game 1, but also fell just one rebound shy of a triple-double. He ended up scoring 52.3 DraftKings points and can continue to put up monster numbers even if his shot isn't fall in Game 2. Joel Embiid (eye) has already been ruled out for Monday, so look for Simmons to lead the Sixers once again.

J.J. Redick, PHI vs. MIA ($5,800): The veteran leadership that Redick provided during the regular season was key to the Sixers' success and he helped to take charge in Game 1, scoring 28 points and hitting four three-pointers. He's not going to provide much in the way of rebounds or assists, but his ability to create spacing is crucial and he should see a few extra shot attempts Monday with Embiid still out. At this mid-tier price, he's an excellent option to consider.

Marco Belinelli, PHI vs. MIA ($4,800): Belinelli couldn't have had a much better performance in Game 1, scoring 25 points on his way to 38.5 DraftKings points. He took 17 shots in 33 minutes off the bench, seven of which were from behind the arc. The Sixers scored 130 points as a team in Game 1, which is surprising considering they did it without Embiid and against a Heat team that allowed the fourth-fewest points per game (102.9) in the league during the regular season. Even if Belinelli can't score 25 points again Monday, he still has a big enough role off the bench to be able to provide value.

Forwards

Kevin Durant, GS vs. SA ($10,500): The Warriors overmatched the Spurs in Game 1 and this might not be a long series, even with Stephen Curry (knee) sidelined. Durant was only needed to play 32 minutes, but had a great all-around performance with 24 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and two steals. He's the offensive leader of the Warriors until Curry is healthy, making him someone to consider even at this lofty price.

Robert Covington, PHI vs. MIA ($5,900):Covington had some big performances down the stretch during the regular season, scoring at least 38 DraftKings points in three of the last six games that he played normal minutes. He showed he doesn't need to score a lot to provide value in Game 1, scoring 30.8 DraftKings points despite finishing with just nine points. He recorded three blocks in that contest and has averaged 3.3 steals and 2.4 blocks in his last seven games. His price came down a little bit as well for Game 2, further thrusting him into the conversation of forwards to consider.

Manu Ginobili, SA at GS ($4,100): We could be watching the final playoff run for Ginobili, who has come up with some huge performances when it mattered the most during his career. He plays a limited role off the bench now, but still managed to score 19.8 DraftKings points in 17 minutes for Game 1. Finding cheap value plays is not easy on a slate with only two games, but Ginobili is a viable option at this price even with his limited upside.

Centers

Draymond Green, GS vs. SA ($7,700): Green only scored 12 points in Game 1, but provided excellent overall production with eight rebounds, 11 assists, two steals and one block. With Curry sidelined, expect Green to continue to have an expanded role when it comes to helping facilitate the Warriors offense. Center is thin Monday, leaving Green with one of the highest upsides at the position.

Kelly Olynyk, MIA at PHI ($6,100): In a regular season trend that carried over into the playoffs, Olynyk played a significant role in Game 1 while Hassan Whiteside logged just 12 minutes. Whiteside is better suited to do battle with Embiid, but expect Olynyk to play more minutes again in Game 2 since Embiid will still be sidelined. It will be tough for him to match the 40.8 DraftKings points that he scored in Game 1, but Olynyk is a great option if you don't want to pay up for Green.
