Drops 40 on UNC-Asheville
GUNC-Asheville
December 12, 2019
Batts had a career-high 40 points (14-17 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 9-9 FT) to go along with six rebounds and three assists over 39 minutes in Wednesday's 85-90 OT loss to South Carolina State.
ANALYSIS
After sitting out a season following a transfer from North Carolina State, Batts has started every game this year for UNC Asheville but had yet to surpass 20 points. He didn't even enter the contest with the team's scoring lead, as he's one of four players averaging double figures, led by Tajion Jones (15.4 ppg) and Devon Baker (15.0 ppg). Batts still has two years of eligibility remaining after 2019-20, so the ceiling is tremendous if he plays out his career with the Bulldogs, though transferring back to a high major seemingly wouldn't be out of the question if he continues to perform at this level.
