Johnson has been held out of practice this week due to a shin injury, Jonathan M. Alexander of The Raleigh News & Observer reports.
ANALYSIS
This is concerning news for the Tar Heels, but there's been no indication he's in jeopardy of missing a first-round matchup against Iona just yet. Even if he were to miss the contest, North Carolina would likely still be the betting favorite without its leading scorer (16.9 ppg). Johnson essentially plays the Justin Jackson role for North Carolina, shooting a team-high 46.5 percent from beyond the arc (min. 25 attempts) while proving plenty capable around the basket as well. It's a situation worth monitoring heading into Friday's evening matchup in Columbus.
