2024 Tournament PreviewDayton had an automatic NCAA bid wrapped up for before March even started thanks to non-conference wins against LSU, St. John's, SMU and Cincinnati. Its top-20 offense, per KenPom, is led by 6-10 junior DaRon Holmes (20.4 ppg, 8.4 rpg, 2.1 bpg), who wrecks havoc in the paint, but the team's driving force is its third-ranked perimeter shooting (40.2 percent). Four players, including Holmes, shoot at least 37 percent on 3-pointers, with 6-6 junior Koby Brea (10.9 ppg) hitting 49.2 percent on a team-high 185 attempts. The Flyers slow the pace (337th in tempo, per KenPom) and look for the open three - 38.2 percent of their points come on the perimeter, 22nd in the nation. Dayton struggles, though, on the glass, ranking 257th in offensive rebounding rate and 177th in defensive rebounding rate. With eight wins in Quads 1 and 2 and no bad losses, Dayton could do some damage in the Tournament.
