Tuck has been ruled out for the season due to a ruptured Achilles, Dave Campbell of 630 CHED reports.

Tuck suffered the rupture during the team's mini-camp, but given that he is primarily a special teams player for the Eskimos, it shouldn't have any impact on the team's offensive outlook for the 2018 season.

Tuck signed a two-year extension to remain with the Eskimos on Tuesday, Dave Campbell of 630 CHED reports.

Tuck is primarily a special teams player for Edminton, recording 15 tackles in 11 games last season. He has zero career rushes or receptions in four seasons in the CFL.

Tuck (undisclosed) was added to Edmonton's depth chart ahead of Saturday's game against the Stampeders.

With Alexandre Dupuis out due to an undisclosed injury, Tuck will take on a reserve role at the fullback position, backing up starter Calvin McCarty. Tuck has played in nine games this season -- five with the Eskimos and four with Toronto -- but hasn't touched the ball in any of those contests, obviously limiting his fantasy potential.

Tuck agreed to a contract with the Eskimos on Tuesday.

Tuck, a fourth-year CFL player, has joined the Eskimos after seeing four games earlier in the season with the Argonauts. He's used primarily for blocking, as he has yet to record a carry or catch in the league.
