CFB Waiver Wire: Players to Pick Up Week 13

This article is part of our CFB Waiver Wire series.

AMERICAN ATHLETIC

Shawn White, RB, Navy: There's no doubt that quarterback Will Worth will rack up multiple scores against SMU on Saturday. If Worth isn't available in your league, go with the Midshipmen's next best option in fullback Shawn White, who ran for 150 yards and three touchdowns on just 11 carries in Saturday's 66-31 shellacking of East Carolina. White has received double-digit carries in two straight games and should once again this week.

Ventell Bryant, WR, Temple: Bryant is coming off the best game of his career with nine catches for 168 yards and a touchdown at Tulane. This week, Temple will play an East Carolina team who looks like they've given up on the season after allowing 66 points in a loss to Navy at home. Bryant has recorded at least 70 receiving yards in five of his last six games.

ACC

Nathan Peterman, QB, Pittsburgh: If Peterman is hanging out there on the waiver wire, go out and get him for the Panthers' last game of the season. He's having a great senior year with 22 touchdowns and just five interceptions. Pittsburgh has one of the hottest offenses in the country with a combined 99 points in wins over Clemson and Duke. Next up is Syracuse, who gives up over 34 points per game.

Cam Phillips, WR, Virginia Tech: With stud receiver Isaiah Ford drawing the attention of opposing defenses, Phillips has been able to grab 16 catches in the Hokies' last two games.

The junior receiver has consistently gotten better each season and should have a solid game against Virginia's bad defense this week. Quarterback Jerod Evans is also worth considering if available.

BIG 12

Alex Barnes, RB, Kansas State: The freshman introduced himself Saturday with 129 yards and four touchdowns at Baylor. The Wildcats have been extremely efficient on the ground in their last four games, racking up over 200 rushing yards. It'll be interesting to see if Barnes gets the opportunity to build on his breakout performance against Kansas, a team that shouldn't present much of a challenge.

Shock Linwood, RB, Baylor: For the first time this season, Linwood was pretty much used exclusively at running back as he ran for 110 yards on 24 carries in Saturday's loss to Kansas State. With Baylor struggling without starting quarterback Seth Russell, it could be Linwood's team the rest of the way which means a great matchup is in store for the senior against Texas Tech on Friday Night. The Red Raiders just gave up 272 yards on the ground to Iowa State in a 66-10 loss, so Bears quarterback Zach Smith is also worth considering for fantasy purposes.

BIG TEN

Devine Redding, RB, Indiana: Pretty much every running back in the Big Ten Conference has had a great game against Purdue's lackluster rush defense. It's now Redding's turn, who has a chance to rush for over 1,000 yards for the second consecutive season as Indiana attempts to become bowl-eligible in their season finale.

Clayton Thorson, QB, Northwestern: Thorson can put an exclamation point on an impressive regular season with a big game against Illinois. The sophomore has attempted 30 or more passes in ten games and has a total of 25 touchdowns this season. Moreover, it will be senior wide receiver Austin Carr's final game as a Wildcat. Thorson and Carr have connected 80 times for 1,170 yards and 12 touchdowns.

CONFERENCE USA

Josh Stewart, WR, UTSA: Stewart has reached the end zone in four of his last six games and is rounding into one of the top receivers in the Roadrunners' offense. In a loss at Texas A&M on Saturday, Stewart had six catches for 75 yards and a touchdown which is no small feat against SEC-level competition. Just think about his potential against a Charlotte squad that gives up over 300 receiving yards per game.

John Urzua, QB, Middle Tennessee: Urzua is far from a polished signal caller with seven interceptions in three games since replacing the injured Brent Stockstill. He made up for his turnover issue against Marshall on Saturday, however, with four passing touchdowns. He should be able to do the same thing against a bad Florida Atlantic defense this week.

MAC

Donovan Wilson, RB, Bowling Green: Wilson was one of three 100-yard rushers for Bowling Green in its 42-7 win over Kent State on Tuesday. In his last two games, Wilson has a team-high 51 carries for 265 yards and three touchdowns. He's the best bet for a big night when the Falcons play Buffalo on Friday.

Jordan Huff, RB, Northern Illinois: Huff had a career game, including the game-winning touchdown in overtime at Eastern Michigan. He ran for 173 yards and three touchdowns on 23 carries as he received 19 more carries than senior Joel Bouagnon, who left with an undisclosed injury. If the senior can't go versus Kent State on Friday, Huff is worth a start in most leagues.

MOUNTAIN WEST

James Butler, RB, Nevada: Butler led his team in both rushing and receiving in a 38-37 win over Utah State on Saturday. Not only has Butler racked up 1,140 yards on the ground, but he also has 32 catches which makes him an interesting play at UNLV this week.

Kurt Palandech, QB, UNLV: Staying in that same game between the Wolfpack and Rebels, Palandech is worth considering thanks to his four rushing touchdowns in his last three games. He also has five passing touchdowns and only one interception during that span.

PAC-12

JJ Arcega-Whiteside, WR, Stanford: Arcega-Whiteside was a recommendation last week and he recorded his second straight 100-yard game with four catches for 107 yards. While he didn't score a touchdown Saturday, he'll have a great opportunity this week against a horrible Rice team.

Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon: While the Ducks have been mostly a joke this season, Herbert has been an impressive freshman quarterback with 18 touchdowns and just four interceptions. He's completing over 63 percent of his passes and will go up against a mediocre Oregon State team this week. Furthermore, Herbert has racked up four or more total touchdowns in three of his seven games this year.

SEC

Austin Allen, QB, Arkansas: The Razorbacks will finish their regular season at Missouri and Allen will have a great shot at surpassing 3,000 yards. Rawleigh Williams and Devwah Whaley will continue to get their carries in the rushing attack, but Allen should be able to open it up like he did while completing 18-of-25 passes for 303 yards and two touchdowns in a 58-42 win over Mississippi State on Saturday.

Fred Ross, WR, Mississippi State: Ross has quietly accumulated 11 touchdowns this year and even had 10 catches for 171 yards versus Arkansas on Saturday. It was his ninth game with at least five catches, and while Mississippi State has limped to a 4-7 record this season, they should continue to chuck the ball against a depleted Ole Miss defense. On Saturday, Ole Miss gave up 273 passing yards to Vanderbilt, which isn't a good offensive team.

SUN BELT

Warren Wand, RB, Arkansas State: Wand and the Red Wolves pulled off the shocking upset Thursday with a 35-3 win at Troy. Wand wasn't spectacular with just 17 carries for 90 yards, but has been one of the most consistent options in the country with double-digit carries each week. The sophomore running back is averaging 4.6 yards per carry and will get to run against a Texas State team allowing over 200 rushing yards a game.

Al Riles, WR, Louisiana Lafayette: Riles will finish his college career against Louisiana Monroe, which sports one of the worst defenses in the nation. In his final season, Riles has accumulated 51 catches for 618 yards and one touchdown. He was particularly effective at Georgia on Saturday with seven catches for 105 yards.
