Timofey Mozgov
Returns to Khimki
July 12, 2019
Mozgov reached a verbal agreement Friday with Khimki on a multi-year contract, Nikos Varlas of Eurohoops.net reports.
The 7-foot-1 center previously played with Khimki from 2006 through 2010 before spending the past nine seasons in the NBA as a member of the Denver Nuggets, New York Knicks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Lakers, Brooklyn Nets and Orlando Magic. Mozgov played only 31 games in 2017-18 with the Nets and failed to see the court at all in 2018-19 as a member of the Magic while tending to a knee injury, but his health isn't believed to be a concern as he heads back to Europe. Though Mozgov proved to be a poor fit in the pace-and-space NBA in recent years, his imposing size could make him a major weapon against EuroLeague competition.
