Although Prosise is enjoying a healthy offseason, head coach Pete Carroll indicated Thursday that the running back is not a guarantee to make the team this summer, Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times reports. "C.J. has really jumped out, too," Carroll said unprompted. "He's looked good now. He knows he's battling (for a roster spot).''

2018

2017

Wrist and shoulder injuries limited Prosise to only six games in his rookie season, but he showed his upside with 153 yards from scrimmage against the Patriots in Week 10. A wide receiver converted to running back in his final year of college, he has good size but runs with more finesse than power, using his speed and agility to avoid tacklers and get into the open field. He's also still learning the finer points of his position, sometimes hesitating in the hole and still needing work in pass protection. The Seahawks signed Eddie Lacy in the offseason to handle early down work, and Thomas Rawls is still capable of taking snaps when he's healthy, but Prosise could settle in this season as a dangerous receiving option for Russell Wilson out of the backfield, assuming he's able to avoid further injury himself.

2016

It's funny to see Prosise compared to the estimable Fred Jackson, as the Seahawks had the last glimpse of Jackson during the 2015 season. Prosise only played one year of running back at Notre Dame he converted from wide receiver but quickly became comfortable, rolling up 6.6 yards a carry and 11.8 a catch. The Seahawks snapped him up in the third round, the fourth running back selected. He's already the best pass-catching back Seattle has, and he could be in for a meatier role if Thomas Rawls can't recover quickly from an ankle injury. The team has been especially guarded with Rawls' status, but there's some concern he might miss the entire preseason. Christine Michael is also in the mix and has the experience edge on Prosise. We won't blame anyone who makes Prosise a higher priority than Michael.
