Records sack in loss
DTNew Orleans Saints
August 30, 2019
Hood recorded one tackle (one solo), a sack, in the Saints' 16-13 loss to the Dolphins in Thursday's preseason finale.
ANALYSIS
Hood has played for four different teams in his 10-year career, most recently appearing in 13 contests with Washington and Miami last season. He has a chance to find a new home on a title contender if he makes the final 53-man roster.

A first-round pick back in 2009, the 31-year-old Hood is merely hoping for a rotational role at this stage of his career. He's not a lock for the 53-man roster.
Hood projects to open the season as a starter at defensive tackle. Sen'Derrick Marks is expected to regain that spot once he recovers from a torn ACL, however.
After coming over from Pittsburgh, Hood will compete for time on the interior defensive line. He's played in all 16 regular season games in each of his five NFL seasons.
Hood brings some much needed stability to Pittsburgh's aging and oft-injured defensive unit, having played in every game during his four year career. He returns with a solid hold on his starting defensive end position.
After playing defensive tackle in college, Hood moved to defensive end and served as a rotational back-up in his rookie year with the Steelers. Since then, he has moved in to a starting role, although he could be pushed for playing time by Cameron Heyward.
Hood saw very little time in his first season with Pittsburgh. He will likely see his load increased a bit more in 2010, but not enough to the point that he would be up for fantasy consideration.
The Steelers' first-round draft choice from 2009 will start out being a reserve primarily at defensive end although the team said they may also at times try him at tackle. Either way, do not expect Hood to have an impact in terms of fantasy for a year or two.
