After being cut loose by Houston last November, the Chiefs signed McGloin to a contract in March. He's expected to compete with undrafted rookie Chase Litton for the third-string role behind Patrick Mahomes and Chad Henne this season.
McGloin came to Philadelphia from Oakland this offseason and is the clear third-string QB behind Carson Wentz and Nick Foles. Barring injury to either of those two, it is unlikely that McGloin makes the roster or has much fantasy impact this season.
McGloin has cemented himself as Derek Carr's backup the past few seasons and figures to do more of the same in 2016. He may feel the pressure of losing his number two spot on the depth chart after the Raiders drafted Connor Cook in the fourth round of the draft. Regardless, barring any sort of major injuries to Carr, it will likely be another quiet season for McGloin in Oakland.
McGloin will serve as the third-string quarterback in 2015 after the Raiders signed Christian Ponder to be the primary back-up earlier this offseason.
The Raiders have Matt Schaub on the roster to provide veteran experience, and are grooming Derek Carr to be the quarterback of the future, leaving McGloin likely to remain buried on the depth chart in 2014.
McGloin signed with the Raiders in May as an undrafted free agent. While he posted a respectable 24:5 TD:INT ratio in his final season at Penn State, the 23-year-old seems likely to only make the team if one of the top three quarterbacks goes down.
