Headed to injured reserve
WRCleveland Browns
October 16, 2018
Streater (neck) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, Scott Petrak of The Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
Streater was declared out for the season Monday after fracturing his neck in the Week 6 loss to the Chargers, so his placement on IR was merely a formality. The veteran receiver will look to heal up and sign with a team before training camp in 2019.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
Streater missed all of last season after dislocating his toe, but he had a shot at a starting job before the injury. The 30-year-old should have a good shot at making the roster again in Buffalo with a chance to elevate to the top three if Zay Jones doesn't pan out again. There's sleeper potential here, but he's best fit as a wait-and-see.
If Streater is injury-free, he'll have a decent shot at the third wideout position in a Bills offense that swapped Sammy Watkins and Robert Woods for Jordan Matthews and Anquan Boldin. Head coach Sean McDermott has had good things to say about Streater's performance in camp so far.
Streater recorded 60 catches, 888 receiving yards and four touchdowns in 2013, but hasn't been able to duplicate that production since. The 28-year-old wideout played just three games in 2014 before a broken foot ended his season, and 2015 saw him drop in the depth chart following the additions of Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree. The veteran receives new life in Kansas City with the second wide receiver spot still unsettled, but will need to display flashes of the past if he's to earn meaningful reps during the regular season.
Tabbed by many as a breakout candidate coming into last season, Streater played just three largely unproductive games before a broken foot ended his campaign. The Raiders’ leading receiver in 2013, he now finds himself competing with Andre Holmes for looks out of the slot, with rookie Amari Cooper and free agent signing Michael Crabtree expected to start on the outside. Streater’s strong possession skills may give him a slight leg up, but he doesn’t really have the explosiveness or big-play ability of Holmes.
Streater led the Raiders in receiving last year, and it’s not hard to see him doing it again. While Oakland brought in 30-year old James Jones from Green Bay, Jones should be in for a rude awakening upon catching balls from the current incarnation of Matt Schaub rather than Aaron Rodgers. And Denarius Moore is injury prone and inconsistent. At 6-3, 200, Streater, who ran a 4.37 40 at his Temple Pro Day, has top-shelf physical tools, and he put them to good use last year, somehow averaging 9.0 YPT in a terrible Raiders offense. And unlike Jones, Streater might actually experience Schaub as an upgrade.
With Jacoby Ford out, it was the undrafted Streater who stepped into the role of the team's No. 3 receiver last year. It looks like he'll reprise that role this year, too with Ford now apparently healthy and Denarius Moore still around. At 6-3, 200, Streater has good size, and he ran a 4.37 40 during Temple’s Pro Day. Streater's averages of 7.9 YPT and 15.0 YPC per catch were also more than passable for a rookie on an average-at-best passing team. There's upside here should one of Oakland's two injury-prone starters go down – assuming Matt Flynn, or whoever wins the quarterback job, proves reasonably competent.
Streater was not drafted in April, but he has put himself in position to make the final roster with a strong offseason. Still, if he makes the cut, it's likely that he will be at the bottom of the depth chart.
