Immelman is not in the field for the Masters.
ANALYSIS
Immelman's name was included in this week's field in some places, but he is not listed among the list of players teeing it up on the PGA Tour's official website, so he will wind up skipping the Masters for the second time in as many years.

Immelman missed only two cuts over the final eight months last season. His best finish was T9 at Travelers Championship.
Immelman continued his road back from wrist surgery last season and it looks like he's on the right track. He doesn't resemble the player who won the Masters in 2008, but at a cheap price, he doesn't have to. Immelman needs only to continue his road to recovery and the numbers should start to get back to where they were pre-injury. He didn't have a stellar 2011 season, but there were signs of that major champion still present, like when he finished T15 at the Masters and T12 at the PGA Championship. The sky isn't the limit, but $2 million is more than reasonable. Immelman should go about the sixth round in draft leagues.
Immelman played in just 12 tournaments last season due to severe tendinitis in his left wrist with tears in the cartilage. He had surgery in October, so watch to see he's back to full speed. He may start slow as he gets back to full strength. Still, he could be a nice value as it was only 2008 when he won at Augusta.
Immelman won the Masters last year, but nearly fell off the map after that win. Immelman definitely suffered a Masters hangover as he earned only two top-10s after the month of April last year. Immelman's feet should be back on the ground now, and his numbers should be better this season. He withdrew from the U. S. Open prior to the event's start, with complicated wrist problems.
Immelman didn't exactly back-up his breakthrough 2006 season well last year. After playing out of his mind the year before, Immelman was expected to take it up another notch and start challenging the big boys last year, but that did not happen. Of all the disappointing numbers perhaps this one was the worst, only six top-25s in 21 events. There's a difference between bad and disappointing, Immelman wasn't bad last year, he was disappointing. Look for some improvement in 2008.
Immelman has already gone from "next big thing" to "bust" to "darn good player" in the matter of a few years. Heading into the 2006 season many had written off Immelman as a player who just could not get it done in the States. In the span of two months last summer, he laid to rest all doubts. Over that span he finished runner-up in consecutive weeks, each time having a chance to win, earned five top-25s and finally won at the Cialis Western Open. Immelman played in 24 events last year, which is about where he should be in 2007. While it's hard to imagine he can reproduce his mid-summer run from last year, you have to remember he wasted the first five months of the season last year. His production in 2007 might decline a little, but not much.
Played in 14 events last year, which is a pretty heavy load. Didn't have as much success as most anticipated. This might be another case of a player getting used to the PGA Tour. Not sure how many events he will play this year, but he's a good, productive player on his way up.
Since he won't be playing too often on the PGA Tour, he probably isn't worth drafting. Then again, it seems like every tournament he is entered in, he plays well.
