DraftKings NHL: Tuesday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings NHL series.

GOALIE

Connor Hellebuyck, WPG vs. EDM ($8,400): Hellebucyk and the Jets will try to make it two in a row after handing the Hurricanes their first loss of the season, playing host to a team that has looked no better than the one last year. Connor McDavid had a hand in all five of the Oilers' goals this season but other than him no other player has stood out. The Oilers are playing their fourth straight road game.

CENTER

Sidney Crosby, PIT vs. VAN ($7,200): He has just four assists so far this season, a pretty slow start for a superstar player. The Canucks will likely ride the hot hand in goal with Anders Nilsson, but they'll also be without Jay Beagle and Elias Pettersson, and Bo Horvat has no chance against Sid or Evgeni Malkin ($6,700). Both teams have mediocre defenses in what could be a high-scoring game.

Tyler Johnson, TB vs. CAR ($4,900): The Hurricanes lose their first game and the Triplets line is back, so things are looking good for TJ. With the Lightning off to a shaky start Jon Cooper has gone back to the line that gave him the most success. This moves TJ back to center where he can get more opportunities to create plays and have Nikita Kucherov as the finisher on his right wing.

WING

Taylor Hall, NJ vs. DAL ($7,400): With the way the Devils have been playing, it's hard to believe Hall hasn't scored a goal yet. He can extend his point streak to three games against the Stars, who lost 4-1 last night and will start backup Anton Khudobin. The Stars are willing to trade scoring chances with their opponent and play a style that opens up the ice for the speedy Hall, who scored three points against them last season.

Zach Parise, MIN vs. ARI ($6,000): The Parisessance continues with his third straight two-assist effort, and he really looks like a different player this season. The Wild are languishing and goal scoring has been slightly difficult, and without Parise's team-leading seven points and 16 shots they'd be downright awful. Parise's line doesn't bring a lot of excitement but they're very effective. He has 10 goals in 21 career games against the Coyotes.

Brock Boeser, VAN at PIT ($5,700): Boeser has been Matt Murray's worst nightmare since entering the league, scoring five goals in two games. Murray's coming back from a concussion and Boeser is just finding his groove with a point in three straight games. No Elias Pettersson means more pressure on Boeser, but it was of no bother to him last year and he's looked much better recently. The Pens defense is very thin.

DEFENSE

Josh Morrissey, WPG vs. EDM ($5,300): He's a great option if Dustin Byfuglien can't play because Morrissey will get some power-play minutes. Morrissey's all-round game is similar to Jacob Trouba's, although he has a little more offense. The Oilers' penalty kill has allowed three goals on just eight attempts and ranks last in efficiency. Morrissey has four assists, 16 blocked shots and five shots on net in his past four games.

Robert Hagg, PHI vs. FLA ($4,400): It was supposed to be Ivan Provorov leading the Flyers but it's been Hagg instead, who has three points in five games and already starting to see his role increase. Like Provorov, Hagg does a little bit of everything and this season has 12 shots and nine blocked shots. Neither team has been good on defense this season so expect a high-scoring game.
