FanDuel NHL: Tuesday Value Plays

FanDuel NHL: Tuesday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

GOALIE

Keith Kinkaid, NJD vs. DAL ($8,100): With Cory Schneider out, Kinkaid has put up some impressive numbers starting for the Devils. Through three games he has a 1.33 GAA and .949 save percentage. The Stars are on the road for the second night of a back-to-back, and last year they only averaged 2.59 goals per contest in away games.

CENTER

Mark Scheifele, WPG vs. EDM ($7,300): Scheifele had "only" 60 points last year, but when you consider he did that in 60 games it becomes a bit more impressive. He's also averaged more than three minutes per contest on the power play over his last two seasons. Cam Talbot is trying to bounce back from posting a 3.02 GAA and .908 save percentage last year, but he has a .901 save percentage to start this campaign.

Brayden Point, TAM vs. CAR ($6,400): With so much talent on the Lightning, Point almost feels overlooked, even though he had 32 goals and 66 points last year. He's also recently been moved to Tampa's top line, which could pay off big time if it continues. The Hurricanes had a 3.09 GAA last year, and the goaltending duo of Curtis McElhinney and Petr Mrazek doesn't exactly inspire confidence.

WING

Mikko Rantanen, COL at NYR ($6,900): Rantanen exploded onto the scene last season with 84 points, including 35 on the power play. He's working hard to prove that wasn't a fluke, as he has eight points through five games, and he's notched a point in every single contest. The Rangers didn't have as enjoyable a season as Rantanen last year, as they had a 3.21 GAA and allowed a whopping 35.3 shots on net per game.

Kyle Palmieri, NJD vs. DAL ($6,400): Palmieri has played in three games, and he's scored two goals in every single one of those games. Sure, he won't keep up this pace, but he did have 24 goals in 62 contests last season. Since the Stars are on the road for the second night of a back-to-back, backup goalie Anton Khudobin will likely be in net.

Sven Baertschi, VAN at PIT ($4,600): Baertschi has never made a big mark, but he did had 14 goals and 15 assists in 53 games last season. He also averaged 2:02 per game on the power play, and seven of his goals came with the extra man. The Penguins had a 3.01 GAA last year, and had the 17th-ranked penalty kill. Matt Murray has returned from his concussion, but he's not yet found his footing after posting a 2.92 GAA and .907 save percentage last season.

DEFENSE

Keith Yandle, FLA at PHI ($5,300): Yandle isn't a huge goal scorer, but he's a great playmaker. The veteran defenseman had 48 assists last season, including 17 on the power play. His power-play success could come into play in this matchup, as the Flyers had the 29th-ranked penalty kill last year.

Mikhail Sergachev, TAM vs. CAR ($4,300): Sergachev was deployed in aggressive fashion last season, as he started a whopping 70.2 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone. He also averaged 1:51 per game on the power play, notching 16 points with the extra man. Carolina had a 3.22 GAA on the road last season, and had the 24th-ranked penalty kill, both of which bode well for the young Russian defenseman.
