FanDuel NHL: Tuesday Value Plays

FanDuel NHL: Tuesday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

It's a busy Tuesday in NHL circles, as there are 10 games on the slate. That's 20 teams worth of players to select from for your daily fantasy lineup. Here are some suggestions…

GOALIE

Devan Dubnyk, MIN vs. ARI ($9,100): Dubnyk has been under the weather, but the expectation is that he will be good to go Tuesday. That means he and his 2.48 GAA and .921 save percentage will be in net. The Wild are strong at home again, they have an 8-2-2 record in Minnesota, while on the other hand, the Coyotes have lost four in a row.

CENTER

Sean Couturier, PHI vs. OTT ($6,500): The Senators, who are last in the NHL in GAA, shots allowed per game, and penalty-kill percentage, are on the road for the second night of a back-to-back. Do I really need to say more? How about this: Couturier has 10 goals and eight assists through 23 games.

Bo Horvat, VAN vs. LOS ($5,800): Horvat has tallied 11 goals and 11 assists through 26 games. He's also averaged a whopping 3:26 per contest with the extra man, tallying eight points in that time. The Kings are without their top-two goalies due to injury, which is probably partially why they rank 29th on the penalty kill.

WING

James van Riemsdyk, PHI vs. OTT ($5,800): Van Riemsdyk has missed most of the season with injury, so it's hard to really judge his play thus far. However, last season JVR scored 36 goals on 248 shots, so we know what he can do. Since Craig Anderson played Monday, Ottawa may be forced to start Mike McKenna in net. In four games, the 35-year-old journeyman has a 5.41 GAA and .862 save percentage.

Reilly Smith, VGK at CHI ($4,700): Smith is enjoying a five-game point featuring eight points. Though the 27-year-old only has four goals, his 6.8 shooting percentage is the lowest of his career. That should improve. Perhaps the Blackhawks will help on that front, as they have a 3.38 GAA.

Andrei Svechnikov, CAR at MON ($3,600): It took the second-overall pick a little while to get going, but he has five points in his last six games. He's also put 63 shots on goal in 23 contests. The Canadiens have a 3.38 GAA and .894 save percentage, which bodes well for the promising 18-year-old.

DEFENSE

Drew Doughty, LOS at VAN ($5,300): After a slow start, Doughty is starting to turn things around. He has a four-game point streak, giving him 14 points on the season. The Canucks, meanwhile, have a 3.54 GAA, which is bottom-five in the NHL.

Ryan McDonagh, TAM vs. ANA ($5,000): McDonagh seems to have found his footing with the Lightning. He has 17 points through 23 games, and he's put 46 shot on net as well. The former Ranger should be able to add to that shot total in this contest. Though the Ducks have a 2.88 GAA, which is about average, they've allowed 35.7 shots on net per game, second highest in the NHL.
