FanDuel NHL: Tuesday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

Most teams in the NHL have played at least 30 games to this point. That's a nice round number that lets you feel like the season has really kicked it into high gear. There are 10 games on the slate Tuesday, and here are my daily fantasy lineup recommendations.

GOALIE

Carter Hutton, BUF vs. LOS ($8,300): The Kings have the worst offense in the league and are on the second night of a back-to-back. The only concern is that Hutton is banged up, though he is expected to play. If he doesn't, his backup Linus Ullmark is a great option as well as the Sabres look to end their five-game losing streak.

CENTER

Mark Scheifele, WPG vs. CHI ($8,400): Scheifele has been a point-per-game performer for a couple seasons, and he's taken his game to a new level so far this year. The 25-year-old has 35 points in 29 games, including 12 in his last eight. Now he's going up against a Blackhawks team that has a 3.68 team GAA, second highest in the NHL.

Boone Jenner, CLM vs. VAN ($4,700): Jenner has 14 points on the season, but five of his points have come in his last eight games. He's also averaged 18:02 in ice time, his most in four seasons, and his 2:21 per game in power-play time is a personal high. Jenner hasn't found a ton of success with the extra man yet this year, but that could change against a Canucks team that ranks 27th on the penalty kill.

WING

Sam Reinhart, BUF vs. LOS ($5,800): Reinhart was the second-overall pick in 2014, and he's shown why recently. He's on a six-game point streak and has notched nine points in those contests. The Kings, as previously noted, will be on the road for the second game of a back-to-back. Los Angeles also has the 29th-ranked penalty kill, and Reinhart has averaged 3:15 per game with the extra man.

Craig Smith, NAS vs. OTT ($5,000): Last season, Smith scored 25 goals on 229 shots, and this year he has eight goals on 91 shots through 30 games. Ottawa has allowed a whopping 38.3 shots on goal per game, which is probably partially why it has a 3.94 team GAA, as well.

Jakub Vrana, WAS vs. DET ($4,300): Vrana is only in his second full season in the NHL, and the 22-year-old is still seemingly growing as a player. He has nine goals and nine assists, and has recorded points in three straight games. The Red Wings are on the road for the second game of a back-to-back, and Jonathan Bernier may be in net for them. He has a 3.38 GAA and .893 save percentage.

DEFENSE

Mattias Ekholm, NAS vs. OTT ($4,600): With P.K. Subban out, Ekholm has taken on a larger role. Though he hasn't scored a goal in a while, he has seven assists in his last 10 games. As previously noted, the Senators have a 3.94 GAA and have given up 38.3 shots on net, both worst in the NHL. It wouldn't be surprising to see the Swede add to his assist total, and perhaps even his goal total.

Vince Dunn, STL vs. FLA ($3,600): Dunn showed promise as a rookie, and now the 22-year-old has taken on a bigger role. He's averaged 18:23 in ice time, including 2:50 on the power play. So far, Dunn has tallied 10 points, and five of those have come with the extra man. The Panthers have a 3.50 GAA, which is bottom five in the NHL, but on the road that number actually shoots up to 3.92.
