DraftKings NHL: Sunday Picks

DraftKings NHL: Sunday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings NHL series.

There are six games in DraftKings featured contests Sunday, which begins with the matchup between St. Louis and Buffalo. It's also a busy night for back-to-back sets, so keep a close eye on starting netminders and potential line changes. The Blues, Sabres, Islanders, Wild, Penguins, Panthers and Oilers are all playing their second game in consecutive days.

GOALIE

Anton Khudobin, DAL vs. VAN ($7,800): With a .945 save percentage through his past three appearances, Khudobin has shined behind Dallas' improved team defense. The Stars have surrendered just 1.63 goals per 60 minutes at five-on-five since Feb. 1, after all. If Ben Bishop ($8,000) receives the starting nod, he's also a solid option. And if you needed more incentive to take a Dallas goalie, the Canucks come in having lost five consecutive road games.

CENTER

Sidney Crosby, PIT vs. PHI ($7,900): The Penguins were embarrassed 5-1 at home against St. Louis on Saturday, and No. 87 was held off the scoresheet. Look for a rebound showing from Crosby and the Pens, and the center has been posting video-game numbers since mid-February with 31 points - including 10 goals - through his past 18 contests. The Flyers could be vulnerable, as they have surrendered 12 goals over their past two games.

Paul Stastny, VGK vs. EDM ($5,100): The 33-year-old veteran has found a groove of late, with at least one point in eight of his past nine games for a total of two tallies and eight assists. Stastny has also clicked with new linemate Mark Stone ($6,700) for a respectable 3.3 goals and 15.93 high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes at five-on-five. It should prove to be a soft matchup with Edmonton playing its second road game in consecutive nights and traveling to Vegas.

WING

Max Pacioretty, VGK vs. EDM ($5,800): A potential stack option with Paul Stastny ($5,100), Pacioretty enters Sunday's tilt with a three-game point streak and four goals, two assists and 27 shots over his past eight outings. The dependable winger is also a staple on the No. 1 power-play unit, and as noted, Edmonton should be in tough in this road game.

Sam Reinhart, BUF vs. STL ($5,200): The Blues provide a daunting opponent, so Reinhart projects as more of a contrarian candidate. Still, he's clicked with linemates Jack Eichel ($7,100) and Jeff Skinner ($6,000) for an impressive 4.5 goals and 16.25 high-danger scoring chances per hour this season. The 23-year-old winger also has statistical correction ahead, as he's registered just two assists through his past nine outings.

Corey Perry, ANA vs. FLA ($3,600): At this price, Perry's role alone makes him a player to consider. Add his three goals and two assists through his past five games, and he's a solid source of cap relief. The Panthers are also in a ripe spot for a letdown showing, as they've won four straight but are also playing the second leg of a back-to-back set and third road game in four days.

DEFENSE

John Klingberg, DAL vs. VAN ($5,900): With seven points - including two goals - from his past eight outings, Klingberg is up to an elite 1.91 points per 60 minutes over the past two seasons. Vancouver has also surrendered 15.74 high-danger scoring chances per hour during its five-game losing streak on the road.

Cam Fowler, ANA vs. FLA ($4,100): This registers as a reasonable price for Fowler. His recent production highlights his cross-category profile, and he continues to quarterback the No. 1 power-play unit. The nine-year veteran has collected six points, 10 shots and 12 blocks while logging 22:00 of ice time per contest - including 3:05 with the man advantage - through his past eight outings.
