FanDuel NHL: Tuesday Value Plays

FanDuel NHL: Tuesday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

Now that April Fool's Day is over, we can get back to serious business. For example, the business of killing it at daily fantasy hockey. Here are my lineup recommendations based on the 10 NHL games taking place Tuesday.

GOALIE

Pekka Rinne, NAS at BUF ($8,400): Rinne isn't going to win another Vezina, but nobody is complaining about his 2.45 GAA and .917 save percentage. Plus, over his last 13 games he has a 2.28 GAA and .925 save percentage. The Sabres have been the worst team in the NHL defensively since the All-Star break, and they haven't been much better offensively, averaging 2.24 goals per game in that time.

CENTER

Eric Staal, MIN vs. WPG ($6,200): Staal's numbers have taken a step down from last season when he scored a stunning 42 goals out of the blue, but he's still having a fine year. He's notched 52 points in 78 games, including 15 with the extra man. The Jets have the 23rd-ranked penalty kill, and on top of that they are on the road for the second game of a back-to-back.

Bo Horvat, VAN vs. SAN ($6,100): With 11 points in his last 11 games, Horvat now has 59 points on the season. That includes 27 goals on 222 shots. The Sharks have gotten poor goaltending this year, especially on the road. They have a 3.46 GAA and .883 save percentage in away games.

WING

Viktor Arvidsson, NAS at BUF ($7,600): Arvidsson hasn't been helping out his teammates much this season, as he only has 13 assists, but he's tallied 33 goals in 55 games, so who's complaining? Few people have had trouble scoring against the Sabres recently. They have a 3.93 GAA since the All-Star break.

Clayton Keller, ARI vs. LOS ($5,400): Keller's in a bit of a drought, but he's started 67.2 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone. That's highest on the Coyotes. He's also averaged 3:32 per game with the extra man and notched 19 power-play points. Meanwhile, the Kings have the 29th-ranked penalty kill, and they are on the road for the second night of a back-to-back.

Andrei Svechnikov, CAR at TOR ($4,100): What rookie wall? Svechnikov has eight points and 28 shots on goal in his last 11 games, and he's scored 20 goals as an 18-year-old. The Maple Leafs had a tough March defensively, as they had a 3.71 GAA last month. Since Frederik Andersen started last night, Garret Sparks may be in net Tuesday, and he has a 3.15 GAA.

DEFENSE

Tyson Barrie, COL vs. EDM ($6,500): Barrie is a power-play machine. He's averaged 4:06 per game with the extra man and registered 25 power-play points. Though both of these teams are playing their second game in as many days, the Oilers are stuck on the road, and they also have the 30th-ranked penalty kill.

Mattias Ekholm, NAS at BUF ($3,900): After a bit of a dry spell, Ekholm has two points in his last three games. That gives him 44 points in 77 contests. As previously noted, the Sabres have a 3.93 GAA since the All-Star break.
