Sneep is not an offensively-gifted defenseman, but the Penguins thought enough to call him up for one game in 2011-12. Sneep snagged an assist in his lone game with Pittsburgh, but his forte is defense. A second-round pick in the 2006 draft, the 6-foot-3, 217-pound blueliner played four seasons at Boston College before turning pro. Since then, Sneep has spent the better part of two years toiling with the Baby Penguins of Wilkes-Barre (AHL), where he's put up four goals and 27 points in 101 contests. He should see more time in the NHL in 2012-13, whether it's with Pittsburgh or for another organization. He appears ready for the next step.
Sneep is one of a handful of promising defensemen within Pittsburgh's organization. He got his feet wet in the AHL last year, scoring four goals and 17 points in 61 games for the Baby Penguins. He saw improvement during his time with Boston College, collecting 11 goals and 28 points in 42 games as a senior in 2009-10. He'll be 24 years of age in November and needs to play well to make it to Pittsburgh in the winter.
Sneep completed a four-year collegiate career at Boston College in the spring of 2010. A second round pick in 2006, Sneep scored 11 goals and 28 points in 42 games as a senior. The right-handed defenseman will begin his professional career in the ECHL and possibly in the AHL this fall.
Sneep is one of Pittsburgh's better defensive prospects. He enters the 2009-10 season as a senior with Boston College. Sneep's numbers at BC -- 36 points in 115 collegiate contests -- don't foretell a huge upside once he joins the professional ranks. Sneep isn't likely to debut in the NHL for at least a few years, making him an easy pass in fantasy leagues.
Sneep is an up-and-comer defenseman who should be with the Penguins in a couple seasons. A second-round draft pick in the 2006 draft, Sneep has spent the last two seasons playing at Boston College. The 20-year-old defenseman collected 15 points in 44 games last year.
Sneep is a solid two-way defensive prospect who doesn't figure to light things up in the offensive end of the ice. He'll start his sophomore year at Boston College in 2007-08. As a freshman he finished with 10 points (1,9) in 38 games for BC. Sneep likely won't be in Pittburgh for another two or three years.
Sneep will play at Boston College in the fall of 2006.
Look waaaay up and you'll find Sneep, a 6'4" defensive stud who projects to be a top-four defenseman who will play in all situations. He's an impressive athlete having starred in both hockey and baseball in high school, but he'll have to prove he can elevate his game to the next level when he heads to Boston College for the 2006-07 campaign.
