The Senators announced on Monday that they have signed forward prospect Caporusso to a two-year, entry-level deal reports the club's web site.
ANALYSIS
He recently completed his senior year playing for the University of Michigan Wolverines. In 160 games for the Wolverines, Caporusso had 68 goals and 76 assists. He has some nice offensive upside, but will need some seasoning in the AHL before he's ready to crack the big club.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2011
2010
Caporusso will begin his first pro season in 2011-12 with Ottawa's AHL affiliate in Binghamton. The offensively gifted forward spent four years at the University of Michigan and was a finalist for the Hobey Baker Trophy in 2009 during his sophomore year. In his junior and senior years though, he didn't equal his play from 2009 and will need to step it up in his first pro season in the AHL as there is now a wealth of forward competition in Ottawa's pipeline. He's likely two to three years away from seriously challenging for a spot with the big club.
Caporusso will spend the 2010-11 season playing for the University of Michigan of the NCAA. It will be his 4th year of college hockey and should head to the AHL shortly after. He has good wheels and some nice offensive upside but will need to work on his strength and two-way game if he hopes to ever crack the big club. Caporusso is likely two to three years away from making the NHL.
