Ryan signed a one-year, $725,000 contract with the Kings on Monday, Jon Rosen of Fox Sports West reports.
ANALYSIS
Ryan appeared in 44 games with the Sharks in 2018-19, tallying seven assists while averaging just 12:46 of ice time per contest. The 26-year-old will battle for a spot on the Kings' third pairing during training camp, but he'll likely end up taking on a rotational role as the team's seventh defender.

2018 Fantasy Outlook
Ryan was solid yet unspectacular during his rookie season in 2017-18, totaling three goals and 12 points while posting a plus-13 rating in 62 contests. The 2012 seventh-round pick's offensive output should continue to improve during his sophomore campaign, but it's highly unlikely that he'll score at a pace that will make him worth owning outside of deep fantasy formats. Ryan should continue to munch minutes as part of San Jose's top pairing this season, but his ice time won't be enough to make him a viable option in the majority of fantasy settings.
