Marcus Sorensen
Marcus Sorensen
27-Year-Old Right WingRW
San Jose Sharks
2018 Fantasy Outlook
Sorensen only appeared in 32 games with the Sharks in 2017-18, totaling five goals and seven assists while averaging just 10:09 of ice time over that span. The 26-year-old winger was impressive in the playoffs, racking up four goals and five points in 10 contests, but there's no reason to expect that success will carry over into the 2018-19 regular season. Sorensen's lack of offensive production and minor role in San Jose will once again keep him off the radar in all but the deepest of season-long fantasy formats. Read Past Outlooks
$Signed a two-year contract extension with the Sharks in January of 2019. The contract carries annual cap hit of $1,500,000.

Sorensen scored a goal on three shots and supplied two hits in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Oilers.
ANALYSIS
Sorensen's goal snapped a five-game point drought for the Swedish winger. He's up to 29 points in 79 appearances this season, with 100 shots and 88 hits. Sorensen hasn't generated a ton in any one category but has serviceable totals when viewed altogether, earning Sorensen some fantasy relevance in deeper formats.

2017 Fantasy Outlook
Transitioning from European hockey to the North American landscape has been a relatively seamless process for Sorensen, who the Sharks nabbed in the fourth round (106th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He appeared in 43 games with the AHL's San Jose Barracuda last season, accumulating 17 goals and 17 assists to mirror the offensive output he had with Djurgardens IF of the Swedish Hockey League in 2015-16. Evidently confident in his abilities, the Sharks unleashed Sorensen for 19 regular-season contests and the winger kicked in two points in six games in the 2017 Stanley Cup playoffs -- despite averaging fewer than 11 minutes per affair. Since the Sharks share a rink with their minor-league affiliate, temper expectations for Sorensen as he's likely to shuffle between the NHL and AHL a fair amount in the upcoming season.
