Hot
Patrick Marleau - Marleau netted a goal and added two assists Monday. He's been kind of quiet for a high draft pick following last year's 44-goal showing. In other words, despite his 17 points Marleau is likely due for more outbursts like Monday's. He's going to go on a run right here.
Scott Hartnell - His composite stats have become much more respected the past couple years as a PIMs guy who puts up his fair share of points, too. We all know that. With Daniel Carcillo out for three weeks, there's a good chance his penalty minutes increase - he had 12 PIMs Tuesday night.
Cold
Pekka Rinne - He's allowed at least three goals in each of his last seven starts. Hopefully the return of Shea Weber and Ryan Suter will be enough to get his numbers turned around - 4-5-2, 3.06 GAA, .904 saves percentage.
Kyle Quincey - Quincey returns for the first time in nearly two weeks after missing time with a concussion. Quincey averaged 34 points his last two years but has zero through his first 12 in 2010-11. He's an above average defensive producer in hits, blocked shots and shots on goal. Stay tuned, if he shows any life he could go from the cold list to hot faster than an Al Iafrate slapper.
Recommended Pickup
Arron Asham - Asham is fitting in nicely on the Pens' No. 2 line with Evgeni Malkin. Asham seems to be finally recovered from a shoulder injury that hampered at the beginning of the season and has three points in five games. Of course, Asham is more of a PIMs guy than anything, but with the added category of hits he has added value. Guys like Asham and Matt Cooke are producing for Pittsburgh and likely available on many waiver wires.
