FanDuel NHL: Saturday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

Hockey Night in Canada returns for another week of action. With 11 games on the main slate, decisions will be tough and fitting in certain stars may be tougher. Consider these value options when building your lineups:

Goalie

Ondrej Pavelec, NYR at MON ($7,600): Pavelec looked solid in his last start on Thursday, stopping 27 of 29 shots en route to his first victory of the year. He gets a matchup with the Canadiens, who are averaging 1.70 goals per game – dead last in the NHL. They have looked terrible in all areas and have not shown many signs of improvement. I like Pavelec at his salary, even if it means rostering him in a road game.

Center

Vincent Trocheck, FLA vs DET ($5,600): Trocheck is still underpriced and is performing well with four goals, six assists, and 30 shots on goal in nine games – including two goals and three assists in his last two. He's seeing a lot of ice time and is a mainstay on the power play, with Florida is coming off of an eight-goal explosion in their last outing.

Sean Couturier, PHI at TOR ($6,100): The Maple Leafs have experienced defensive issues and the Flyers seemed to have built something special with their top line. Shifting Claude Giroux over to left wing opened the door for Couturier to jump in and he hasn't looked back. He has notched three goals and two assists in his last two contests, with seven goals and five assists overall.

Wing

Evgeny Dadonov, FLA vs DET ($4,900): Dadonov scored two goals in his last game – his third in three games – as the Panthers poured eight goals on the Ducks. He's seeing first-line minutes and offers supreme value at just $4,900 in a solid matchup against the Red Wings.

Clayton Keller, ARI at NJ ($5,700): Perhaps the best thing about Keller is that he's not afraid to shoot the puck and that has brought him immediate success in his rookie campaign. Averaging 3.8 shots on goal, Keller has seven goals and four assists in 10 games. He's also up to nearly 20 mins per game on the Coyotes' first unit and faces a favorable matchup versus New Jersey.

Jason Zucker, MIN vs PIT ($4,700): The Penguins continue to allow production to opposing wingers and Zucker continues to produce at a bargain salary. He potted a goal in his last appearance, giving him three on the season to go along with four assists in eight games. He's seeing power-play time as has two goals with the man advantage while skating close to 19 minutes a night.

Zach Hyman, TOR vs PHI ($4,300): Hyman always seems to be in the right spot at the right time, which makes sense when you're skating with Auston Matthews and William Nylander. With a goal in his last contest, Hyman now has four tallies to go along with two assists. He may not see a ton of ice time – especially on the power play – but Hyman is always in play at his cheap salary on one of the more talented lines in hockey.

Defense

Ryan Suter, MIN vs PIT ($4,900): The Penguins are conceding a lot of production to defensemen and Suter holds great value on Saturday. With just one goal and five assists, Suter may be off to a slow start but is still getting pucks to the net and blocking shots to offer a solid floor with some offensive upside.

Keith Yandle, FLA vs DET ($5,300): You may notice a trend with the Panthers tonight. I like a number of players and there is plenty of value attached to them. Yandle is no different. He has double-digit FanDuel points in four of his last six games, amassing one goal, three assists, and 11 shots on goal. He often jumps up into the play and serves enough power-play time to earn a recommendation against a weakening Detroit squad.
