DraftKings NHL: Wednesday Picks

DraftKings NHL: Wednesday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings NHL series.

GOALIE

Ben Bishop, DAL at MIN ($7,300): This is salary places Bishop in profit territory. The Wild will likely be starting backup Alex Stalock, and Dallas has surrendered the fourth fewest high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes this season. Bishop has also stopped 53 of 56 shots through during a two-game winning streak, so he enters in solid form.

CENTER

John Tavares, NYI vs. BUF ($7,800): The go-to scorer has collected four goals, 11 assists and 27 shots during an active seven-game point streak, and he's also posted a jaw-dropping 13 tallies and 17 helpers through 17 home games for the campaign. With Buffalo allowing the third most road goals per 60 minutes (3.57) in the league, Tavares is a strong starting point for lineups.

Leon Draisaitl, EDM at WPG ($5,000): With 15 points and 36 shots through his past 16 contests, Draisaitl has quietly posted excellent numbers for a prolonged stretch. His salary clearly doesn't align with the production, and he's still skating on the No. 1 power-play unit. This game has the potential to turn into a high-scoring affair, and there's potential Draisaitl flies under the radar and carries a low ownership percentage.

WING

David Pastrnak, BOS vs. OTT ($6,800): The Senators enter with an active 3-12-3 record and have allowed a hefty 11.87 high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes during that stretch. Considering Pastrnak has marked the scoresheet in 13 of his past 15 outings and has nine multi-point showings for the campaign, he checks out as a high-floor, high-ceiling target in the soft matchup.

Rickard Rakell, ANA vs. VGK ($5,000): Things appear to be turning around for Rakell, as he's collected two goals, three points and 13 shots through his past three contests. Of course, skating on the No. line with Ryan Getzlaf certainly helps the Swede. At Rakell's salary, he's a particularly solid option with Vegas surrendering 3.51 goals per 60 minutes on the road this season.

Jesper Bratt, NJD vs. DET ($4,000): The rookie continues to produce solid offensive numbers with four goals and nine points through his past 11 contests. Bratt is also projected to skate on the No. 1 line with Nico Hischier and Taylor Hall. It's a soft matchup, too. Detroit enters allowing 3.47 goals and 12.78 high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes through its past 10 road games.

DEFENSE

Nick Leddy, NYI vs. BUF ($5,200): A stack option alongside John Tavares, Leddy boasts a high-end 1.92 points per 60 minutes and quarterbacks the No. 1 power-play unit. His salary also offers excellent value considering Buffalo's poor results on the road this year.

Andrej Sekera, EDM at WPG ($4,200): This will be Sekera's third contest back from a knee injury that cost him the first 34 games of the season. The veteran has seen his ice time climb in consecutive outings, and he blocked five shots Saturday against Montreal. With a role on the top power-play unit, Sekera's positioned to provide value on his modest salary.
