FanDuel NHL: Monday-Tuesday Playoff Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

The weekend is over, but the playoff hockey continues. Monday's contests involve Monday and Tuesday's games. Here are some recommendations…

GOALIE

Connor Hellebuyck, WPG vs. VGK ($8,000): Though Hellebuyck has a 2.23 GAA and .926 save percentage in the playoffs, he is the least-expensive starting goalie. That's not surprising given that he had a 2.36 GAA and .924 save percentage in 67 games this year. Of the four teams left in action, the Golden Knights have scored the fewest goals per game (2.82).

CENTER

Paul Stastny, WPG vs. VGK ($5,800): Stastny has at least one point in eight of his last nine games. In that time, he has 13 points total, including five on the power play. Though Marc-Andre Fleury has been great in the playoffs, he allowed four goals on 26 shots in Game 1. The Golden Knights also had a 3.00 GAA on the road this year.

Lars Eller, WAS vs. TAM ($4,100):Nicklas Backstrom could be back, but given that the Capitals are up two games to none in this series there is no need to rush him back. That will leave Eller as the number-two center for Washington in Game 3. He's excelled in that role so far. Eller has four points in his last three contests, and he's put three shots on net in each of those games.

WING

Patrik Laine, WPG vs. VGK ($7,200): Laine has a point in seven of his last eight games. Only two of them have been goals, which is odd given that he had 44 goals this season, but he's stayed active. The Finn put 27 shots on net in those contests, and if he keeps that up he should start lighting the lamp more. As previously noted, Vegs had an away GAA of 3.00 this season.

Jonathan Marchessault, VGK at WPG ($7,000): After breaking out last season with Florida, Marchessault took his game to another level with Vegas. He notched 27 goals on 268 shots and added 48 helpers. Additionally, in his last 10 contests he has 13 points and 40 shots on net. With only four teams left playing, you aren't really going to find great matchups, but Marchessault is good enough to put up point in any matchup.

T.J. Oshie, WAS vs. TAM ($5,600): After getting pulled in the first game of this series, Andrei Vasilevskiy allowed six goals on 37 shots in Game 2. It's only two games, but the Lightning did have a 3.36 GAA after the All-Star break this year. Oshie has 10 points in the playoffs, including eight on the power play. That's notable, as the Lightning also had the 27th-ranked penalty kill.

DEFENSEMEN

John Carlson, WAS vs. TAM ($5,800): Carlson continued his torrid playoff performance with two points and five shots on net in Game 2. That gives him 14 points in 14 postseason contests to go along with 48 shots on goal. This comes after he had 68 points in the regular season. Andrei Vasilevskiy has had issues in this series, and that was with the help of home-ice advantage. Being on the road won't be helpful.

Colin Miller, VGK at WPG ($4,300): Miller averaged 9.3 fantasy points per game this season thanks in part to 10 goals and 31 assists. He was also helped by the fact he started 61.8 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, which was highest on the Golden Knights. Miller has also averaged 3:08 per game with the extra man in the playoffs, which helps his fantasy potential.
