Guan defeated Alex Caceres via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) at UFC Fight NIght: Shanghai on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Guan started the fight out by rocking Caceres with a right hand. From there, Guan took some time to adjust to Caceres' awkward movements, but eventually dropped him with a huge left hand. "The Dongbei Tiger" jumped on Caceres to finish the fight, but "Bruce Leeroy" was saved by the bell. He was visibly wobbled heading back to his corner. In the second round, Guan was able to stun Caceres multiple times, but did not knock him down. Caceres was able to mount a little more offense, but he never hurt the Chinese featherweight. In the third round, Guan opened up a cut near his opponent's right eye, and then was able to knock Caceres down with a right hand. Over the rest of the round, Caceres got the better of the exchanges with Guan. "The Dongbei Tiger" did a good job of surviving as Caceres needed a finish in order to get the victory.
