Signs with Invicta FC
Kaufman agreed to a deal with Invicta FC on Wednesday, Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Kaufman and the UFC failed to come to terms with a new deal following her unanimous decision victory over Jessy Rose-Clark in March in Battlefield FC: Korea. Before that bout, the veteran bantamweight lost her previous two matches, in what ended up being her last in the UFC. She is scheduled to take on an unnamed opponent at Invicta FC 27 on Jan. 13 in Kansas City, Missouri.

ANALYSIS
Kaufman easily won the total strike battle, but the vast majority of those were insignificant shots off her back. Outside of some top control time during the final 3 minutes or so, Kaufman was pretty much dominated. Shevchenko was able to throw her to the ground easily and she was the quicker fighter on the feet. The split decision is pretty deceiving. Shevchenko was clearly the better fighter on Saturday. This should just about do it in regards to Kaufman being a threat in the women's bantamweight division. It is the first time in her career that she has lost back-to-back fights.

She seemed to be in full control in her last fight against Alexis Davis in May, but she got caught in an armbar in the second round and was forced to tap out. Kaufman has to win if she hopes to be viewed as a contender in the UFC's 135-pound female division.

Kaufman was the first ever women's bantamweight champion back in the Strikeforce in 2010, but she lost the title to Marloes Coenen just two fights later and she later failed in an attempt regain the title from Ronda Rousey . She is one of the better women's bantamweights in the world, but with so many talented fighters ahead of her in the peking order, it's tough to see Kaufman ever getting a title shot in the UFC.
