The Juggernaut
Forces Joe Warren into a striking battle and takes decision victory at Bellator 195
BantamweightBellator
March 2, 2018
Taimanglo defeated Joe Warren via split decision (30-27, 28-29, 30-27) at Bellator 195 on Friday in Thackerville, Okla.
ANALYSIS
In the first round, Warren had some success with his wrestling. When the two were on the feet, Taimanglo landed heavy shots. In the later rounds, Warren really struggled to implement his wrestling. This opened the door for Taimanglo. He landed with hard hooks and low leg kicks. In the final round, Taimanglo appeared to slip off a combination from Warren. This allowed Warren to get on top, but Taimanglo escaped and scored a takedown of his own. This was a very impressive victory over Taimanglo who improved his professional record to 24-8-1.

Drops decision against Leandro Higo at Bellator 184
BantamweightBellator
October 6, 2017
Taimanglo lost to Leandro Higo via unanimous decision (28-29, 27-30, 27-30) at Bellator 184 on Friday in Thackerville, Okla.
ANALYSIS
Taimanglo was a step behind in this fight. He struggled to score at range. He was at a reach disadvantage, and Higo was clearly the more seasoned striker. Taimanglo's strategy was to work for the clinch and go for takedowns. However, when he was able to close the distance, he could not muscle Higo to the ground. As the fight went on, Taimanglo resorted to throwing wild power strikes, and that was not a recipe for success. With less than two minutes in the fight, Taimanglo managed to take the back standing. It looked like it might earn him the round, but Higo escaped and nearly finished the fight with a guillotine choke. The Guamanian fighter has already proven that he belongs in the Bellator bantamweight division, and this fight did nothing to diminish that point of view.
Will fight Leandro Higo at Bellator 184
BantamweightBellator
August 7, 2017
Taimanglo will fight Leandro Higo at Bellator 184 on Oct. 6.
ANALYSIS
Taimanglo is coming off back-to-back fights against Darrion Caldwell, with a submission victory over him at Bellator 159 in July of 2016, before dropping their most recent bout by decision in December. It was his first loss in five fights, so he'll be looking for a bounce-back effort against Leandro Higo, who owns a career record of 17-3. Higo stands 5-foot-8 and has the reach advantage over the 5-foot-4 Taimanglo, but both fighters do the bulk of their work as submission specialists, so look for this fight to regularly be on the ground.
Comes up short in rematch against Darrion Caldwell
BantamweightBellator
December 4, 2016
Taimanglo lost to Darrion Caldwell via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at Bellator 167 on Saturday in Thackerville, Okla.
ANALYSIS
Taimanglo set out to prove that his submission victory against Caldwell in July was no fluke, but was unable to get the job done as his opponent was able to keep control with a dominating wrestling game. Taimanglo had opportunities to make Caldwell tap yet again, but came up just short, ending the fight with one last try on his opponent’s back. Taimanglo had put together a four-fight win streak prior to the loss, and while he may not be at the same level as Caldwell from an overall skill standpoint, he has continually proven that he is a tough out for anyone in the division.
Earns upset victory over Darrion Caldwell at Bellator 159
BantamweightBellator
July 24, 2016
Taimanglo picked up the upset victory over Darrion Caldwell via submission (guillotine choke) at 0:09 of Round 3 at Bellator 159 on Friday.
ANALYSIS
Taimanglo was not favored in this fight, and likely lost the first two rounds, but was able to catch Caldwell in a guillotine after a double-leg takedown attempt went horribly wrong. It's likely the biggest win in the professional career of the 32-year-old bantamweight, and arguably propels him to the status of top contender in the division. Champion Eduardo Dantas has yet to schedule his next fight, so a matchup between these two would make sense later in the year.

June 1, 2016
Taimanglo will face Darrion "The Wolf" Caldwell in a bantamweight matchup at the main event of Bellator 159.
ANALYSIS
Taimanglo has recently put together a three-fight win streak to bounce back from back-to-back losses in 2013-14, but will face an up-and-coming fighter in Caldwell that has won his last nine bouts. The winner of this main event showdown will then face either Macos Galvao or Eduardo Dantas -- two fighters that are set to square off for the bantamweight championship June 17.
