September 8, 2018
Sanchez lost to Jarred Brooks via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) at UFC 228 on Saturday in Dallas.
ANALYSIS
Sanchez had a solid opening round. He got on top in a scramble and held the position. However, in the next two rounds, Brooks was the better wrestler. He scored takedowns in each round and did solid work from the top. Sanchez tried to move and scramble on the bottom, but he was basically stuck and could do nothing.

FlyweightUFC
September 3, 2018
Updating a previous report, Sanchez will now fight Jarred Brooks at UFC 228 on Sept. 8, Alexander K. Lee of MMAfighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Sanchez was originally booked to fight Ryan Benoit, but the latter was forced to withdraw due to an undisclosed injury. In walks the 25-year-old Jarred Brooks, who will look to get back on track after losing each of his last two fights. Sanchez, on the other hand, owns a 1-1 record since joining the UFC promotion, with his most recent outing being a submission win over Joby Sanchez in February. Sanchez could look to use his length to his advantage, as he's three inches taller than Brooks and owns a four-inch reach advantage.

Sanchez will take on Ryan Benoit in a flyweight matchup at UFC 228 on Sept 8, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Sanchez is a younger fighter with just two fights with the company, compared to Benoit's six. In the short sample size, Sanchez has registered four takedowns in just under six minutes of fight time, and he'll be facing an opponent with only a 62 percent takedown defense mark.

Sanchez defeated Joby Sanchez via submission (rear-naked choke) at 1:50 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Sunday in Austin.
ANALYSIS
This was quick work by Roberto Sanchez. He shot in for an early takedown, took Joby Sanchez's back in the scramble, and was able to get a rear-naked choke standing, which eventually brought the fight to the ground and finished the fight.
To take on Joby Sanchez

Sanchez will face off against Joby Sanchez at UFC Austin on Feb. 18, Dave Doyle of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Sanchez will be making his second appearance in the UFC after falling to Joseph Morales via submission (rear-naked choke) during Round 1 of his debut at UFC Fight Night 114 in Mexico City in early August. Prior to that defeat, he was a perfect 7-0 as a professional, and will be looking to start a new winning streak against a hot opponent. Joby Sanchez comes in with a four-fight win streak, and recently topped J.P. Buys in August during Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender series.
Stopped in Round 1 in UFC Debut

August 5, 2017
Sanchez was defeated by Joseph Morales via submission (rear-naked choke) at 3:56 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night 114 on Saturday in Mexico City.
ANALYSIS
Sanchez came into his UFC debut undefeated as a professional mixed martial artist. He immediately went for his opponent's strength by taking Morales down. It is dangerous to challenge Morales' grappling skills, but Sanchez mentioned before the fight that he was confident in his own skills as a brown belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. "Little Fury" couldn't do much on the ground because Morales has such a strong guard though. Once the fight was standing again, Sanchez got dropped by a straight right and was swarmed by the Team Alpha Male product. Once Morales had his back, Sanchez did a good job of fighting off the first choke, but ultimately succumbed to a rear-naked choke and tapped out. This fight was short, but Sanchez did not mount much offense other than the initial takedown. It will be interesting to analyze his skills through an entire fight.
