Questionable judgment leads to loss
June 1, 2019
Fishgold lost to Makwan Amirkhani via submission (Anaconda Choke) at 4:25 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night 153 in Stockholm, Sweden on Saturday.
Fishgold was having some success coming forward and landing strikes, but it was Amirkhani who seemed to be the more competent grappler of the two, which makes one wonder about the English fighter's decision to pull guard for a guillotine choke in Round 2. Fishgold has a solid boxing/wrestling game but may not do either one of those things well enough to compete at a high level. He falls to 18-3-1 in professional MMA as a result of the loss.

Taking on Amirkhani in Stockholm
March 25, 2019
Fishgold (18-2-1) is slated to face Makwan Amirkhani (14-3-0) in a featherweight fight June 1 at UFC Stockholm, Peter Carroll of reports.
Fishgold has fought primarily as a lightweight throughout his MMA career and was a champion in the division during his time with the Cage Warriors promotion, but he moved down to the featherweight level after signing with the UFC in 2018. After taking a TKO loss to Calvin Kattar in his promotional debut in October, Fishgold bounced back with a second-round victory over Daniel Teymur via submission at UFC Prague in February.
Gets first UFC win in style
February 23, 2019
Fishgold defeated Daniel Teymur via submission (rear-naked choke) at 1:10 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night 145 in Prague, Czech Republic on Saturday.
Fishgold had trouble with a technical, rangey striker in Calvin Kattar when the two faced off in his UFC debut but the 26-year-old had no such problems in this matchup, bullying the smaller Teymur with pressure and takedown attempts until he was finally able to wrap the neck in Round 2. Fishgold is a suffocating fighter with good BJJ whose boxing skills are improving, which could make him someone to watch for in the featherweight division. He improves to 18-2-1 in professional MMA as a result of the victory.
Looking to bounce back
January 11, 2019
Fishgold will face Daniel Teymur at UFC Prague on Feb. 23.
Fishgold has the opportunity of banishing Teymur from the UFC payroll altogether when considering that Teymur has lost both of his first two fights under the UFC banner in convincing fashion. That said, Fishgold is also technically winless with the company too, after losing his inaugural UFC match to Calvin Kattar at UFC Fight Night 138 by TKO via punches.
Falls in UFC debut in Moncton against Calvin Kattar
October 27, 2018
Fishgold lost to Calvin Kattar via TKO (punches) at 4:11 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Moncton, New Brunswick.
Fishgold looked great early in this fight. He was sitting down on his punches and landing power shots. His strategy was to hurt his opponent with power shots and then flurry. However, towards the end of the first round, Kattar landed a hard punch while Fishgold was going for a takedown. Fishgold was hurt and dropped to the ground. Kattar continued to pour it on until the referee stopped the bout. This was Fishgold's UFC debut, and even though he lost, he will likely get another shot in the promotion.
Making UFC debut versus Kattar
September 10, 2018
Fishgold will take on Calvin Kattar at UFC Moncton on Oct. 27, Aaron Bronsteter of TSN Sports reports.
This will be Fishgold's UFC debut, as he just signed with them after becoming the Cage Warriors lightweight champion. The 26-year-old is 17-1-1 as a professional, garnering 12 of his 17 victories via submission. He also is in the midst of a seven-fight win streak. Kattar is also a newcomer on the UFC circuit, though he could prove to be a tough matchup given that Kattar doesn't get taken down easily and has three inches on Fishgold in terms of height.
