Jordan Williams

UFC debut set
September 18, 2020
Williams will square off against Nassourdine Imavov in his UFC debut on Oct. 3, Mike Heck of reports.
Williams will enter the Octagon under the UFC promotion for the first time at Fight Island after earning himself a contract as part of Dana White's Contender Series earlier this week and will be available for a fight in short order after not taking much damage versus Gregory Rodrigues. Williams sports a 9-3-1 record for his professional career and will likely aim to keep his opponent at a distance with his one-inch reach advantage.

Third time's the charm
September 15, 2020
WIlliams defeated Gregory Rodrigues via TKO (punches) at 2:19 of Round 1 at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. After the show, he was one of three fighters to be awarded official UFC contracts.
Williams picked up a stoppage victory (that was later overturned to a no-contest) in his first Contender Series appearance back in 2018, but it wasn't enough to get signed to the roster. He returned last summer and suffered a narrow, split-decision loss to Ramazan Kuramagomedov, but was invited back for another shot. Despite entering as a (+125) betting underdog against a well-respected jiu-jitsu practitioner, Williams caught Rodriguez with a combination early that ultimately spelled the end. Williams also doesn't cut a lot of weight, so he was definitely the smaller fighter here, but that didn't matter in the least bit. Also unique is that the 29-year-old has an inspirational story due to competing with Type 1 diabetes. Given Williams didn't take much damage here, he should theoretically be ready to make his UFC debut on a relatively short turnaround.
