Taisumov's contract with the UFC has expired, and he's currently exploring multiple offers including a return to the UFC, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Taisumov owns a strong 7-2 record with the UFC, so it makes sense that the promotion wants him to return. He's reportedly open to the idea as well, though visa issues that make it difficult for him to schedule fights in the United States are apparently complicating things. That could lead to him signing with a promotion that's based elsewhere.

Taisumov lost to Diego Ferreira via unanimous decision (28-29, 27-29, 27-29, 28-29) at The Arena on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Taisumov used his countering style well in Round 1, dropping his opponent to a knee with a big shot. Ferreira never stopped coming forward, however, and eventually wore Taisumov down to the point where he was landing consistently in the second and third frame. Taisumov has been a force to be reckoned with for most of his UFC career but simply was unable to manage when pushed in the heat of Abu Dhabi. He falls to 27-6 in professional MMA as a result of the loss.

This will be the first fight back for Taisumov after serving a six-month suspension from USADA for having a banned substance in his system. Both fighters will enter the octagon with win streaks; Taisumov having won his past six and Ferreira having won his past four.
Targets return in September

Taisumov is hopeful to fight at UFC 242 on Sept. 7 in Abu Dhabi, freelance MMA journalist Farah Hannoun reports.
ANALYSIS
It was recently disclosed that Taisumov had finished serving a USADA suspension as a result of testing positive for a banned substance following his win over Desmond Green last September. He also missed weight badly for that event, so despite a six-fight winning streak, the 30-year-old has to come up big here to get back into the good graces of the UFC. Prior to the Green fight, however, he had built up a streak of three consecutive Performance of the Night bonuses, so prospective fantasy owners shouldn't forget what the Chechnyan-born fighter is capable of.

Taisumov was handed a six-month suspension by the USADA after testing positive for a banned substance, Aaron Bronsteter of TSN.ca reports. Since the suspension is retroactive to October 8, Taisumov is eligible to fight as of Monday.
ANALYSIS
Taisumov tested positive for the banned substance following his victory over Demond Green at UFC Moscow back in September. Since he has not stepped in the Octagon since then and with the suspension only being six months, the 30-year-old is immediately eligible.
Wins unanimous decision after missing weight in Moscow

Taisumov defeated Desmond Green via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC Moscow on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Taisumov was not overly impressive in this fight. During his post fight interview he blamed it on Green running for the majority of the match. Taisumov only hurt Green one time, which came in the second round after an overhand right. Other than that he attempted to walk Green down, but wasn't able to corner him against the cage. He won mostly due to being the aggressor and landing a lot of body and leg kicks.
