El Toro
Adds fight in June
April 11, 2019
Reyes will face Drew Dober in a lightweight matchup at UFC Minneapolis on June 29, Nolan King of Flocombat reports.
Reyes opened his UFC run on a three-fight winning streak, but has since dropped two of his last three bouts. He'll enter with slight height and reach advantages, in addition to being the higher-volume striker. Look for this one to be played out on the feet, as the pair has just two combined takedowns (both Dober) over their last 12 UFC bouts combined.

Endures brutal finish
February 23, 2019
Reyes lost to Damir Hadzovic via TKO (punches) at 2:03 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night 145 in Prague, Czech Republic on Saturday.
Reyes was having a fair bit of success early in Round 1 by coming forward and throwing combinations but didn't seem prepared for his opponent to shoot takedowns in response, which resulted in the Mexican fighter ending up on his back. Round 2 took on a similar tone, but Hadzovic made the most of the opportunity the second time around, forcing Reyes to give up his back on the ground, where he succumbed to brutal ground and pound. Reyes is a slick boxer and a fun action fighter but seems to struggle with fighters who don't simply agree to brawl with him in the pocket. He will need to diversify his game if he wants to get back to his winning ways. Reyes falls to 8-5 in professional MMA as a result of the loss.
Draws Hadzovic in Prague
January 24, 2019
Reyes (suspension) will take on Damir Hadzovic in a lightweight matchup at UFC Prague on Feb. 23.
Reyes is fresh off a six-month suspension for the banned substance ostarine that showed up in an out-of-competition test back in March. Now ready to return, he enters this matchup with a superior UFC record (4-1), in addition to slight height and reach advantages. Outside of his matchup with James Vick, Reyes has been a fantasy-friendly fighter, picking up three stoppages in his four victories. He's landed an average of 6.69 significant strikes per minute through his time with the UFC, but is willing to take damage too, absorbing 4.59 significant strikes per minute. Neither combatant has registered a takedown in the UFC, so this one should be fan-friendly.
Handed six-month suspension
October 29, 2018
Reyes tested positive for a contaminated supplement and accepted a six-month suspension, Aaron Bronsteter of TSN Sports reports.
Specifically, Reyes tested positive for ostarine in an out-of-competition test back in early March. "El Toro" hasn't fought since January when he made quick work of Matt Frevola in St. Louis via KO in the first round. He will be banned from the promotion for roughly six months from the date of the original positive test.
Makes quick work of Matt Frevola
January 14, 2018
Reyes defeated Matt Frevola via KO (punches) at 1:00 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Sunday in St. Louis.
Frevola came out looking to brawl. Reyes was more than willing to oblige. In one of the first few exchanges, Reyes knocked Frevola's mouthpiece out. After he landed a couple more strikes, the referee stopped the action to replace the mouthpiece. Reyes went back to work and landed several devastating blows, which finished the fight. The Mexican fighter improves to 4-1 in the UFC with three knockouts.
Will face Matt Frevola at UFC St. Louis
November 8, 2017
Reyes will face Matt Frevola in a lightweight bout at UFC St. Louis on Jan. 14, Dave Doyle of reports.
Reyes, who owns a 7-4 overall record (3-1 UFC), is looking to bounce back from his TKO loss to James Vick in May. Frevola owns a 6-0 record in professional fights and will be making his UFC debut opposite Reyes.
