Long suspension due to foot injury
Reis has been suspended 180 days by the Georgia Athletic and Entertainment Commission pending a physician's clearance of a left foot injury, MMAFighting.com reports.

A popular underdog pick, Reis didn't manage to last too long against the younger Pantoja. While he was credited with a takedown, Reis lost the striking battle 23 to one en route to his eventual finish. Reis is an above-average fighter, but the fact that he's lost four of his last five, coupled with the uncertainty surrounding the UFC's 125-pound division, seems to put his future with the promotion in jeopardy.

He looked strong in the early portion of the fight before a straight shot right down the pipe from Pantoja closed the show. Reis is one of the better flyweights on the planet, but he now sporting a 1-4 record in his last five bouts dating back to his April 2017 loss to former UFC Flyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson. Reis, who has no power in his hands, would be of little interest at bantamweight.

He ended up scoring on seven-of-seventeen attempts and as a result was able to keep Nguyen trapped against the cage and the mat for a good portion of the fight. It was an easy win in a fight in which Reis was shockingly the underdog at +125. The Brazilian better hope that the UFC doesn't do away with the flyweight division. Reis has little power in his hands (he doesn't have a single win in his career via knockout) and he's short at 5-foot-4. He would be far less interesting at 135 pounds.

Suffers third straight loss Saturday in Glendale
Reis lost to John Moraga via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC on FOX 29 on Saturday in Glendale, Arizona.

Reis is now riding a three-fight losing streak, although the first two setbacks came against UFC Featherweight Champion Demetrious Johnson and perennial top contender Henry Cejudo. Reis needs to get back in the win column his next time out.
