Mondogoal Fantasy Soccer: Saturday EPL Tip Sheet

This article is part of our Mondogoal Fantasy Soccer series.

Some of the bigger clubs have sputtered coming out of the most recent international break, and while the main slate of Saturday fixtures for Gameweek 10 features several of the heavyweights, some of the regular players don't seem like automatic picks. Attractive matchups against lower-half clubs will carry more value given the uncertainty, and there are several stacking opportunities available for those who choose to go that route.

GOALKEEPER

David de Gea, v. (£7.1M): De Gea's price has fallen after suffering a 4-0 thumping at Chelsea last week, but he will face a much more favorable matchup this time around. Burnley have managed just one goal on the road this season and have yet to even secure a point, setting the Spaniard up for a bounce-back performance at Old Trafford at an affordable rate.

Huerelho Gomes, v. (£4.2M): Gomes is coming off back-to-back road clean sheets and will return home to Vicarage Road to face a Hull side that are plummeting down the table. Saturday's opponents have lost four consecutive league matches and have been outscored 15-2 during that span, making Gomes a top value pick as he looks to continue his recent success.

DEFENDER

Antonio Valencia, v. (£8.9M): Valencia has averaged 2.9 tackles and 2.1 interceptions per game this season while managing to get forward in constant support of the attack. As one of the best two-way fullbacks available for Saturday's main slate, Valencia is poised to produce strong fantasy numbers in a match that the Red Devils are expected to dominate versus a Burnley side that have scored just once on the road this season.

Jose Holebas, v. (£8.2M):
Holebas has enjoyed an excellent run of form, as he has two goals and one assist in addition to averaging 2.2 tackles, 2.6 interceptions and 5.0 crosses per game over the last six. Hull have been dreadful, allowing 15 goals while scoring just two over their last four league matches, presenting upside at both ends of the pitch for the attack-minded Holebas.

Scott Dann, v. (£6.8M): Dann has been treated with caution during his recovery from a hamstring injury, but he is finally ready to return Saturday versus Liverpool. He has been excellent when he has played this season, ranking second among Saturday's available defenders with 8.48 fantasy points per game. He has been especially effective from set-pieces at the attacking end, and he could add to his total of two goals, which leads Premier League defenders, versus a Reds side that have proven vulnerable in that regard.

MIDFIELDER

Philippe Coutinho, at (£14.4M): Coutinho has been in stellar form of late, as he has three goals and one assist to go along with a Premier League-best nine shots on target en route to an average of 14.4 fantasy points per game over the last five. Crystal Palace have won just once in their last five matches and have given up multiple goals three times in that span. Coutinho has been the leader of the most potent attack in the top flight and should find plenty of opportunities to make a fantasy impact Saturday.

Juan Mata, v. (£10.1M): Mata scored the only goal of Wednesday's 1-0 victory over Manchester City to bring his average to 11.09 fantasy points per game over his last five starts. The Red Devils are expected to dominate Saturday's match versus a Burnley side that have allowed three goals per game on the road this season, affording Mata with a great opportunity to continue his recent success as orchestrator of the attack.

Junior Stanislas, at (£7.3M):
Stanislas has three goals and two assists in his last three matches after factoring into three goals in his last appearance. Middlesbrough have improved their play at the back of late, but they have accrued just three points in the standings over the last two months and should struggle to contain a Cherries side that have nine goals in their last four home matches, making Stanislas a strong low-cost option at the midfield position if he can overcome his calf injury.

FORWARD

Roberto Firmino, at (£7.9M): Firmino has three goals and an assist from his last five league matches for an average of 11.08 fantasy points per game during that stretch. He has routinely started up front for the Reds of late, as Daniel Sturridge has been pushed to the bench, and the Brazilian should be an excellent value even if he does not lead the line against a middling Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Troy Deeney, v. (£7.4M): Deeney has scored in each of his last two home matches and will look to make it three straight as the Hornets host Hull on Saturday. The Tigers have yielded 15 goals during their current four-match losing streak in league play, making Deeney a prime candidate to find the back of the net.

Marcus Rashford, v. (£5.5M): Rashford has been one of the bright spots for a scuffling Red Devils attack, as he managed to fire off three shots while creating numerous chances from the wing during last week's thumping of Chelsea. Rashford has started five consecutive matches and should be one of the first names on the team sheet Saturday versus Burnley, who have conceded nine goals in just three away matches this season.
