Celtics Come Through, Grab 2-1 Lead In Series
The Boston Celtics defeated the Golden State Warriors, 116-100, at TD Garden on Wednesday night.

The Celtics recovered the home-field advantage with a solid win at home and now hold a 2-1 lead in the series. Boston established the tone of the game right away and secured a double-digit lead following the first quarter, and they never looked back. The Celtics bolstered that advantage in the second quarter as well following a 35-34 score, but Golden State reacted in the second half and posted a 33-25 score in the third quarter. The game was getting closer, but Boston pulled away for good down the stretch and won the final quarter by a 23-11 score that closed the game out.

Jaylen Brown led the way for the Celtics with 27 points while also adding nine rebounds and five assists, and Jayson Tatum also had a strong game with 26 points, nine assists and six rebounds. Marcus Smart ended with 24 points but also added seven boards and five dimes. Al Horford posted 11 points but also recorded eight rebounds and six assists. Grant Williams posted 10 points and five rebounds off the bench.

Stephen Curry paced the Warriors with 31 points but his efforts were not enough. Klay Thompson had a solid effort as well and finished with 25 points, three assists and three rebounds. Andrew Wiggins was the only other starter who scored in double digits here after posting 18 points and seven rebounds. Jordan Poole came off the bench and scored 10 points.
