Chevan Cordeiro

Cordeiro was a standout quarterback for Hawaii, but he has entered new territory with San Jose State and could have a tougher time seeing the field. In his four years with the Rainbow Warriors, Cordeiro was a backup quarterback for two seasons but then emerged as a starter for the next two. In his final season with Hawaii, the senior threw for 2,793 yards, had 195 completions, 17 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Before his decision to transfer, it seemed likely that Nate Lewis would be QB1 in 2022, but Cordeiro makes the quarterback race much more competitive. There is no telling who will get the starting role with the Spartans once the season starts, however, he played with the starters in one of San Jose State’s spring games which is certainly a good sign.
