Bad in pocket, excellent with feet
Castellanos was 11-for-18 passing for 102 yards and one interception during Thursday's 23-14 win versus Southern Methodist. He also had 21 rushes for 156 yards with two touchdowns.
ANALYSIS
Boston College's bowl game marked the third time in 2023 that Castellanos logged zero passing touchdowns. Unlike the other two games, he did not compensate for his throwing troubles with 200-plus passing yards or four rushing TDs. Even so, Castellanos logged a season high in rushing yards, which he finished with more than a thousand of across 2023. The sophomore was one of few FBS quarterbacks to log more than 1,000 yards in both passing and rushing yards. So while Castellanos' throwing ability leaves a lot to be desired, his dual-threat upside is currently expected to make him the top QB for Boston College during 2024.
