May need knee procedure
Lindholm will need to rehab a knee injury during the offseason, with surgery not off the table, Scott McLaughlin of WEEI 93.7 FM reports.
ANALYSIS
Lindholm was sidelined for three of Boston's postseason contests with Carolina with an upper-body issue, but it appears that it's a lingering knee problem that may carry into the postseason. The defenseman -- who was acquired by the Bruins at the trade deadline -- will need a new contract in the offseason as his current deal is set to expire July 1.

Lindholm's nine-plus year run in Anaheim came to an end following a mid-March deal to the Bruins. He struggled to get on track with his new club, missing time in both the regular season and postseason due to multiple ailments. Clearly not deterred by what they saw, Boston signed the Swedish rearguard to a new eight-year, $52 million contract extension. Lindholm should be good for his usual 30 points, with a slight bump in value possible early in the season as Boston's No. 1 defenseman, Charlie McAvoy, recovers from offseason shoulder surgery.
