Latest Fantasy Rumors
Staying in minors
Podkolzin is expected to continue playing in the minors after President of Hockey Operations Jim Rutherford told reporters Wednesday, "We are not in a rush to bring him up. Let him play, play, play and when he gets to Vancouver he will have 100 percent confidence," Rick Dhaliwal of CHEK television reports.
ANALYSIS
Podkolzin started the season in the minors where he sustained a concussion versus AHL Colorado back in October. Since then, the 22-year-old winger has been ramping up his play, totaling six goals and five assists in 14 minor-league contests. If he continues to produce at that level, the Russian will likely eventually force his way into the Canucks' plans.

2022 Fantasy Outlook
Podkolzin, the No. 10 overall pick by Vancouver in 2019, arrived stateside last season and was an immediate producer for the Canucks. He tallied 14 goals and 26 points in 79 games despite playing the entire year at age 20. Projecting Podkolzin to fill a top-six role for Vancouver may be a stretch, but between his gritty style of play and ability to provide secondary scoring, he's an ideal depth player for the Canucks. Keep an eye on Podkolzin to see if he can take his game to another level in 2022-23.
